أوصت السفارة الأمريكية في العاصمة الأردنية عمّان المواطنين الأمريكيين الموجودين في الشرق الأوسط بالنظر في مغادرة المنطقة، محذرة من احتمال حدوث تصعيد أمني مفاجئ قد يؤدي إلى اضطرابات واسعة في حركة السفر وإغلاق المجال الجوي.
وقالت السفارة، في بيان نشرته على موقعها الإلكتروني، إن البيئة الأمنية في الشرق الأوسط لا تزال «معقدة» في ظل تصاعد التوترات الإقليمية، مشيرة إلى أن الأوضاع قد تشهد تطورات غير متوقعة خلال الفترة القادمة.
ودعت السفارة الأمريكيين الموجودين في المنطقة إلى توخي أقصى درجات الحذر واليقظة، والاستعداد لاحتمال إلغاء الرحلات الجوية أو إغلاق المجال الجوي بشكل دوري، وما قد يترتب على ذلك من اضطرابات في حركة السفر.
وأوضحت أن عدداً من شركات الطيران أرجأ استئناف جداول رحلاته المعتادة، فيما ألغت شركات أخرى بعض خطوطها الجوية، مؤكدة أنه ينبغي للمواطنين الأمريكيين التفكير في مغادرة المنطقة في أقرب فرصة، أو الاستعداد للمغادرة الفورية إذا شهدت الأوضاع تصعيداً جديداً.
كما أوصت السفارة الرعايا الأمريكيين بمتابعة حالة رحلاتهم مباشرة مع شركات الطيران أو عبر الموقع الإلكتروني لمطار الملكة علياء الدولي، لضمان الحصول على أحدث المعلومات بشأن حركة الطيران.
وفي الوقت ذاته، حثت السفارة المواطنين الأمريكيين الموجودين خارج الشرق الأوسط على إعادة النظر بجدية في خطط السفر إلى المنطقة أو العبور عبرها، داعية من يقرر السفر إلى متابعة مستجدات تشغيل المطارات وشركات الطيران بشكل مستمر.
وأشار البيان إلى أن المنشآت الدبلوماسية الأمريكية، بما في ذلك بعثات تقع خارج منطقة الشرق الأوسط، تعرضت خلال فترات سابقة للاستهداف، محذراً من أن إيران والجماعات المتحالفة معها قد تستهدف مصالح أمريكية أخرى في الخارج، بما يشمل المؤسسات والشركات الأمريكية ومواقع يرتادها المواطنون الأمريكيون.
ويأتي هذا التحذير في ظل تصاعد التوترات الأمنية والعسكرية في الشرق الأوسط، وما رافقها خلال الأشهر الأخيرة من تبادل للهجمات بين أطراف إقليمية، فضلاً عن اضطرابات متكررة في حركة الملاحة الجوية وإغلاق مؤقت للمجالات الجوية في عدد من دول المنطقة نتيجة المخاوف الأمنية.
وخلال فترات التصعيد السابقة، أصدرت الولايات المتحدة ودول غربية عدة تحذيرات مماثلة لرعاياها بشأن السفر إلى بعض دول الشرق الأوسط، كما عمدت شركات طيران دولية إلى تعليق أو تعديل مسارات رحلاتها تحسباً لأي تطورات عسكرية قد تهدد سلامة الملاحة الجوية، في وقت تواصل فيه الحكومات مراقبة الأوضاع عن كثب وسط مخاوف من اتساع نطاق المواجهات الإقليمية.
The U.S. Embassy in the Jordanian capital, Amman, has advised American citizens in the Middle East to consider leaving the region, warning of the potential for sudden security escalations that could lead to widespread travel disruptions and airspace closures.
The embassy stated in a statement published on its website that the security environment in the Middle East remains "complex" amid rising regional tensions, noting that conditions may witness unexpected developments in the coming period.
The embassy urged Americans in the region to exercise the utmost caution and vigilance, and to prepare for the possibility of flight cancellations or periodic airspace closures, which may result in travel disruptions.
It clarified that several airlines have postponed the resumption of their regular flight schedules, while others have canceled some of their routes, emphasizing that American citizens should consider leaving the region at the earliest opportunity or be ready for immediate departure if conditions escalate further.
The embassy also recommended that American citizens monitor the status of their flights directly with airlines or through the Queen Alia International Airport website to ensure they receive the latest information regarding flight operations.
At the same time, the embassy urged American citizens outside the Middle East to seriously reconsider their travel plans to the region or transiting through it, calling on those who decide to travel to continuously follow updates on airport operations and airlines.
The statement noted that U.S. diplomatic facilities, including missions located outside the Middle East, have previously been targeted, warning that Iran and its allied groups may target other American interests abroad, including American institutions, companies, and locations frequented by American citizens.
This warning comes amid escalating security and military tensions in the Middle East, accompanied in recent months by exchanges of attacks between regional parties, as well as repeated disruptions in air traffic and temporary airspace closures in several countries in the region due to security concerns.
During previous periods of escalation, the United States and several Western countries issued similar warnings to their citizens regarding travel to certain Middle Eastern countries, while international airlines have suspended or adjusted their flight routes in anticipation of any military developments that may threaten the safety of air navigation, as governments continue to closely monitor the situation amid fears of an expansion of regional confrontations.
