بعد هدوء استمر أياماً، استؤنفت الضربات في الشرق الأوسط، اليوم (الأربعاء)، مع إعلان الجيش الأمريكي اعتراض صواريخ إيرانية وشنّ هجوم على «مليشيات موالية لإيران» في العراق.
وأفاد التلفزيون الرسمي الإيراني بأن الولايات المتحدة شنّت غارات على منطقة محاذية للحدود مع العراق شمال غرب إيران. وأكد التلفزيون تعرض ناحية في منطقة بيرانشهر الحدودية لغارات جوية أمريكية معادية.
وفيما تحدثت أنباء عن استهداف مقر المعارضة الإيرانية شمال أربيل، نقلت وكالة أنباء فارس عن مسؤول إدارة الأزمات في محافظة آذربيجان الغربية قوله: إن صاروخاً معادياً أصاب مكاناً غير مأهول في المنطقة ذاتها، دون أن يسفر ذلك عن وقوع إصابات.
وكانت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية (سنتكوم)، أعلنت على «إكس» أنها نفذت والقوات المسلحة السعودية ضربات دقيقة في العراق، الأربعاء، استهدفت إرهابيين موالين لإيران كان الحرس الثوري قد وجههم لمهاجمة القوات الأمريكية والبنية التحتية للطاقة في المملكة العربية السعودية.
وأكّدت وزارة الدفاع السعودية الضربات، وأعلنت في بيان على «إكس» أن المملكة شنت بالتنسيق مع الولايات المتحدة هجوماً على «مليشيات إرهابية موالية لإيران» في العراق التي تتهمها الرياض بالهجمات الأخيرة التي استهدفت منشآتها النفطية.
وكانت الرياض أعلنت (الإثنين) وقوع هجمات مماثلة، مطالبة العراق بمنع استخدام أراضيه لمهاجمتها. وأعلنت الحكومة في بغداد فتح تحقيق.
وذكرت «سنتكوم» أنها «اعترضت بنجاح» صواريخ أطلقتها إيران «في محاولة لشن هجوم مباغت على القوات الأمريكية المتمركزة في الشرق الأوسط» دون تحديد أي موقع. من جهتها، لم تؤكد طهران بعد شن هجوم ضد الولايات المتحدة.
وفي هذا السياق، أعلن الجيش الأردني في بيان أنه اعترض وأسقط خمسة صواريخ مصدرها إيران «استهدفت أراضي» الأردن.
وأعلن الحرس الثوري الإيراني اليوم أنه استهدف ثلاث ناقلات نفط كانت تحاول العبور عبر مضيق هرمز، وفق ما أفادت وكالة «تسنيم» للأنباء.
وأفادت القوات البحرية التابعة للحرس الثوري وفق ما نقلته تسنيم «قبل بضع ساعات، استُهدفت ثلاث ناقلات نفط مخالفة كانت قد تجاهلت تحذيراتنا وواصلت الإبحار في مسار خطير وغير قانوني، وأُجبرت على التوقف».
After a calm that lasted for days, strikes resumed in the Middle East today (Wednesday), with the U.S. military announcing the interception of Iranian missiles and launching an attack on "Iranian-backed militias" in Iraq.
The Iranian state television reported that the United States carried out airstrikes in an area adjacent to the border with Iraq in northwestern Iran. The television confirmed that a district in the border area of Piranshahr was subjected to hostile U.S. airstrikes.
While reports mentioned the targeting of an Iranian opposition headquarters north of Erbil, the Fars News Agency quoted the crisis management official in West Azerbaijan Province as saying that an enemy missile hit an uninhabited location in the same area, without resulting in any casualties.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on "X" that it, along with the Saudi armed forces, conducted precise strikes in Iraq on Wednesday, targeting Iranian-backed terrorists whom the Revolutionary Guard had directed to attack U.S. forces and energy infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense confirmed the strikes, stating in a statement on "X" that the Kingdom launched an attack in coordination with the United States on "Iranian-backed terrorist militias" in Iraq, which Riyadh accuses of the recent attacks on its oil facilities.
Riyadh announced on Monday that similar attacks had occurred, demanding that Iraq prevent its territory from being used to attack it. The government in Baghdad announced the opening of an investigation.
CENTCOM stated that it "successfully intercepted" missiles launched by Iran "in an attempt to carry out a surprise attack on U.S. forces stationed in the Middle East," without specifying any location. For its part, Tehran has not yet confirmed launching an attack against the United States.
In this context, the Jordanian army announced in a statement that it intercepted and shot down five missiles originating from Iran "targeting the territory" of Jordan.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced today that it targeted three oil tankers attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Tasnim news agency.
The naval forces of the Revolutionary Guard stated, as reported by Tasnim, "A few hours ago, three violating oil tankers that had ignored our warnings and continued sailing on a dangerous and illegal course were targeted and forced to stop."
