عثرت قوات الأمم المتحدة (اليونيفيل) على 4,000 كيلوغرام من مادة نيترات الأمونيوم شديدة الانفجار.
وقالت قوات الأمم المتحدة في جنوب لبنان، في بيان اليوم (الثلاثاء)، إنها عثرت مطلع الشهر الجاري على نحو 4,000 كيلوغرام من مادة نيترات الأمونيوم، شديدة الانفجار، خلال عملية تفتيش في بلدة حولا الحدودية، موضحة أنه خلال عملية تفتيش روتينية على طريق بالقرب من حولا، عثر حفظة السلام على 385 حاوية مهجورة داخل مبنى، تحتوي على نحو 4,000 كيلوغرام من المواد المتفجرة، تتكون بشكل أساسي من مركبات نيترات الأمونيوم.

وأشارت إلى أنه بعد إجراء تقييم دقيق للمخاطر، نفّذ متخصصو إزالة المتفجرات التابعون لليونيفيل إجراءات ميدانية لتعطيل المواد وجعلها آمنة، ما أدى إلى إزالة الخطر الذي كانت تشكّله.
وتقع حولا في قضاء مرجعيون ضمن المنطقة الأمنية التي أعلنت إسرائيل أنها ستبقي قواتها فيها، على الرغم من تراجع وتيرة المواجهات مع حزب الله.
ويرتبط نيترات الأمونيوم في ذاكرة اللبنانيين بانفجار مرفأ بيروت المدمّر، الذي يحيي لبنان الأسبوع القادم ذكراه السادسة.
وتسبب انفجار مرفأ بيروت بمقتل أكثر من 220 شخصاً، وألحق دماراً واسعاً بالعاصمة، وأكدت السلطات اللبنانية حينها أن الأسباب وراء الانفجار تعود إلى 2,750 طناً من مادة نيترات الأمونيوم كانت مخزنة منذ عام 2014 في المرفأ.
يُذكر أن مادة نيترات الأمونيوم عبارة عن ملح أبيض عديم الرائحة، قابل للذوبان في الماء، ويستخدم أساساً للعديد من الأسمدة النيتروجينية، ويمكن استخدامها أيضاً في تصنيع المتفجرات.

They explained that during a routine inspection on a road near Houla, peacekeepers found 385 abandoned containers inside a building, containing about 4,000 kilograms of explosive materials, primarily composed of ammonium nitrate compounds.

They indicated that after conducting a thorough risk assessment, UNIFIL's explosives disposal specialists carried out field procedures to neutralize the materials and make them safe, effectively removing the danger they posed.

Ammonium nitrate is linked in the memories of Lebanese people to the devastating Beirut port explosion, which Lebanon will commemorate the sixth anniversary of next week.
The Beirut port explosion resulted in the deaths of more than 220 people and caused widespread destruction in the capital. Lebanese authorities confirmed at the time that the causes of the explosion were due to 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate that had been stored at the port since 2014.
It is worth noting that ammonium nitrate is a white, odorless salt, soluble in water, primarily used for various nitrogen fertilizers, and can also be used in the manufacture of explosives.
