كشفت الفنانة والإعلامية إسعاد يونس كواليس اعتذار الفنان عادل إمام عن المشاركة في مسلسل «بكيزة وزغلول»، مؤكدة أنه رفض الظهور في العمل بسبب ارتباطاته الفنية، قبل أن يبدي رغبته في تقديم الدور بعد انتهاء التصوير.
اعتذار مبكر
وقالت إسعاد يونس، خلال ندوة أقيمت ضمن فعاليات المهرجان القومي للمسرح المصري، إن عادل إمام اعتذر في البداية عن المشاركة لانشغاله بأعمال أخرى، ما دفع فريق العمل إلى ترشيح الفنان الراحل سمير غانم، الذي وافق على الفور وشارك في المسلسل.
رغبة متأخرة
وأضافت أن عادل إمام تواصل معها عقب انتهاء التصوير، معرباً عن رغبته في تقديم الشخصية التي سبق أن اعتذر عنها، لكنها أوضحت له أن الدور أصبح من نصيب سمير غانم بعد الانتهاء من تصوير جميع مشاهده.
وأكدت أن مشاركة سمير غانم كانت إضافة مهمة للعمل، الذي حقق نجاحاً كبيراً منذ عرضه الأول في بيروت، قبل أن يحظى بجماهيرية واسعة عند عرضه في مصر.
محطات فنية
وتطرقت إسعاد يونس خلال الندوة إلى عدد من محطات مسيرتها الفنية، كاشفة أنها سبق أن اعتذرت عن تجسيد شخصية «ريا» في مسرحية «ريا وسكينة»، بعدما رأت أن الدور ينطوي على مخاطرة كبيرة، وفضلت عدم خوض التجربة آنذاك.
تكريم في المهرجان
وكرّم المهرجان القومي للمسرح المصري، برئاسة الفنان محمد رياض، إسعاد يونس تقديراً لمسيرتها الفنية وإسهاماتها في المسرح، ضمن تقليد المهرجان السنوي للاحتفاء برموز الفن المصري.

Es'ad Younis stated during a seminar held as part of the Egyptian National Theater Festival that Adel Imam initially apologized for participating due to being busy with other projects, which led the team to nominate the late actor Samir Ghanem, who immediately agreed and participated in the series.
Late Desire
She added that Adel Imam contacted her after filming ended, expressing his desire to take on the character he had previously declined, but she clarified to him that the role had become Samir Ghanem's after completing all his scenes.
She confirmed that Samir Ghanem's participation was an important addition to the work, which achieved great success since its premiere in Beirut, before gaining wide popularity when aired in Egypt.
Artistic Milestones
During the seminar, Es'ad Younis touched on several milestones in her artistic career, revealing that she had previously declined to portray the character "Raya" in the play "Raya and Skina," after realizing that the role involved significant risk, and she preferred not to take on the experience at that time.
Honor at the Festival
The Egyptian National Theater Festival, chaired by artist Mohamed Riyad, honored Es'ad Younis in recognition of her artistic career and contributions to theater, as part of the festival's annual tradition of celebrating the icons of Egyptian art.
