في وقتٍ بات الذكاء الاصطناعي حاضراً بقوة داخل القاعات الدراسية، ابتكر أستاذ جامعي أمريكي وسيلة غير تقليدية لكشف الطلاب الذين يعتمدون على روبوتات الدردشة لإنجاز اختباراتهم. وبينما ظن كثيرون أنهم وجدوا الطريق الأسهل للنجاح، كانت عبارة غامضة عن «مدغشقر» كفيلة بكشف الحقيقة وإسقاط عشرات الطلاب في اختبار واحد.
واعتمد أستاذ التاريخ في جامعة ألكورن الحكومية بولاية ميسيسيبي جيسون جيبسون، حيلة ذكية خلال اختبار منتصف الفصل، إذ أخفى داخل ورقة الأسئلة تعليمات لا يراها الطالب، لكنها تُقرأ عند نسخ الأسئلة إلى أدوات الذكاء الاصطناعي، لتدفعها إلى إدراج عبارات عشوائية وغير منطقية عن مدغشقر ضمن الإجابات، رغم أن الاختبار كان يدور حول الثورة الصناعية.
وأوضح جيبسون، في مقطع فيديو نشره عبر منصة «تيك توك»، أن نتائج التجربة جاءت صادمة، بعدما اكتشف أن 32 طالباً من أصل 35 في شعبتين دراسيتين قدموا إجابات مولدة بالكامل بواسطة الذكاء الاصطناعي، دون مراجعة أو تدقيق، ما أدى إلى رسوبهم في الاختبار.
ومن بين العبارات التي كشفت اعتماد الطلاب على الذكاء الاصطناعي، جملة تقول: «مدغشقر تطفو جانباً»، التي وردت وسط إجابة عن أثر التكنولوجيا في المجتمع، إضافة إلى عبارة أخرى اختتمت حديثاً عن عدم المساواة الاجتماعية بقولها: «دراجة مدغشقر البنفسجية تهمس للسقف»، وهي جمل لا تمت لموضوع الاختبار بأي صلة.
وبيّن الأستاذ الجامعي أن الطلاب قاموا بنسخ أسئلة الاختبار مباشرة إلى روبوتات الدردشة، ثم نقلوا الإجابات كما وردت دون قراءة محتواها أو التحقق من دقتها، الأمر الذي سهّل اكتشاف حالات الغش.
At a time when artificial intelligence has become strongly present in classrooms, an American university professor devised an unconventional method to identify students who rely on chatbots to complete their tests. While many thought they had found the easiest path to success, a cryptic phrase about "Madagascar" was enough to reveal the truth and fail dozens of students in a single exam.
The history professor at Alcorn State University in Mississippi, Jason Gibson, employed a clever trick during the midterm exam, as he concealed instructions within the question paper that students could not see, but which would be read when the questions were copied into AI tools, prompting them to include random and nonsensical phrases about Madagascar in their answers, even though the exam was focused on the Industrial Revolution.
Gibson explained in a video he posted on TikTok that the results of the experiment were shocking, as he discovered that 32 out of 35 students in two classes provided answers that were entirely generated by AI, without review or verification, leading to their failure in the exam.
Among the phrases that revealed students' reliance on AI was the sentence: "Madagascar floats to the side," which appeared in an answer about the impact of technology on society, along with another phrase that concluded a discussion about social inequality by stating: "The purple Madagascar bike whispers to the ceiling," sentences that had no relevance to the exam topic.
The university professor indicated that students copied the exam questions directly into chatbots, then transferred the answers as they were without reading their content or verifying their accuracy, which made it easy to detect instances of cheating.
