أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أن الولايات المتحدة لن تتردد في استئناف عملياتها العسكرية واسعة النطاق ضد إيران إذا لم تحقق المفاوضات الجارية «100 في المائة» من الأهداف التي تسعى إليها واشنطن.
وفي المقابل، كشف موقع «أكسيوس»، نقلًا عن مصدرين مطلعين، أن قرار ترمب بتأجيل توجيه ضربات جديدة لإيران يعكس رغبته في منح المسار الدبلوماسي فرصة إضافية، إلى جانب قناعته بأن الضربات الأمريكية الأخيرة حققت أقصى ما يمكن تحقيقه في المرحلة الحالية.
وأوضح المصدران أن الجيش الأمريكي يواصل إعداد الخطط العسكرية تحسبًا لأي قرار بإعادة إطلاق عمليات واسعة، إلا أن الرئيس الأمريكي لم يصدر حتى الآن تعليمات بالتحرك. وأضافا أن القوات الأمريكية قادرة على إعادة حشد قواتها وتنفيذ أي أوامر خلال فترة زمنية قصيرة إذا اتُخذ قرار بذلك.
وفي تطور موازٍ، أفادت مصادر إقليمية للموقع بأن الوفد العُماني الذي يجري محادثات في طهران أحرز تقدمًا في جهوده الرامية إلى احتواء الأزمة، مشيرة إلى وجود مؤشرات على إمكانية التوصل إلى تفاهم بين سلطنة عُمان وإيران بشأن إعادة فتح مضيق هرمز خلال عطلة نهاية الأسبوع.
من جانب آخر، ذكرت هيئة البث الإسرائيلية أن ترمب أرجأ تنفيذ هجوم واسع كان مقررًا بين ليلتي الجمعة والسبت، بهدف منح الجانب الإيراني فرصة جديدة للعودة إلى طاولة المفاوضات.

In contrast, Axios reported, citing two informed sources, that Trump's decision to postpone new strikes against Iran reflects his desire to give the diplomatic track an additional chance, along with his belief that the recent U.S. strikes have achieved the maximum that can be accomplished at this stage.
The sources clarified that the U.S. military continues to prepare military plans in anticipation of any decision to resume large-scale operations, but the U.S. president has not yet issued orders to move. They added that U.S. forces are capable of redeploying and executing any orders within a short timeframe if a decision is made to do so.
In a parallel development, regional sources informed the site that the Omani delegation currently holding talks in Tehran has made progress in its efforts to contain the crisis, indicating that there are signs of a possible understanding between Oman and Iran regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend.
On another note, the Israeli broadcasting authority reported that Trump postponed a large-scale attack that was scheduled between Friday and Saturday nights, in order to give the Iranian side a new opportunity to return to the negotiating table.
