وسط تحذيرات من إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بأن رفض طهران إصدار تعهد علني لفتح هرمز قد يترتب عليه عواقب وخيمة، كشف مسؤولون أمريكيون اليوم (السبت) عن منح الرئيس دونالد ترمب المفاوضين الأمريكيين وقتاً محدوداً للتوصل إلى اتفاق مع إيران.
ونقل «إكسيوس» عن مصدر دبلوماسي قوله: إن مسؤولين قطريين يشاركون في المحادثات بين إيران وسلطنة عمان في مسقط بشأن مضيق هرمز، موضحاً أن المشاركين في اجتماعات مسقط يناقشون إصدار بيان بشأن إعادة فتح الممر الأوسط في هرمز.
وأشار المصدر إلى أن الممر الأوسط في مضيق هرمز يقع في المياه الدولية بما يضمن حرية الملاحة وعبور السفن.
وقال مسؤولون أمريكيون إن اجتماع سلطنة عمان اختبار حاسم لمستقبل الدبلوماسية مع إيران، موضحين أن أزمة مضيق هرمز أثارت شكوكاً بشأن قدرة طهران على تنفيذ أي التزامات.
وأوضح المسؤولون أن أولوية إدارة ترمب هي بيان تعلن فيه إيران أن مسارات الشحن بهرمز مفتوحة.
ووصل وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي اليوم إلى سلطنة عُمان، التي أبلغت وكالة الشحن البحري التابعة للأمم المتحدة بأنها لا تدعم فرض رسوم للعبور في المضيق، بما يتعارض مع ما تطالب به طهران.
ومن المقرر أن تنتهي مهلة إدارة ترمب لإيران خلال الساعات القادمة لوقف استهداف السفن وضمان حرية الملاحة في مضيق هرمز، معتبرة أن التزام طهران بهذه الخطوة سيشكل اختباراً لجدية مسار المفاوضات النووية، ملوحة بـ«عواقب وخيمة» إذا رفضت الاستجابة.
