أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، أن إيران طلبت من الولايات المتحدة مواصلة المحادثات، إلا أن واشنطن أبلغتها أن «وقف إطلاق النار انتهى».
وكتب ترمب على منصته تروث سوشيال، اليوم (الجمعة): «إيران طلبت منا أن نواصل المباحثات. لقد وافقنا على القيام بذلك، لكن الولايات المتحدة أبلغتهم، بعبارات لا لبس فيها، أن وقف إطلاق النار انتهى!».
فيما نقل موقع «أكسيوس» عن مصدر مطلع قوله: إن جولة جديدة من المفاوضات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران يُتوقع عقدها الأسبوع القادم، مرجحاً أن تستضيفها سويسرا.
وأفاد الموقع بأن مفاوضين قطريين توجهوا إلى إيران، بالتنسيق مع الولايات المتحدة، للقاء مسؤولين إيرانيين في مسعى لخفض التصعيد وتهيئة الظروف لاستئناف المفاوضات.
وفي طهران، نفى مصدر مطلع قريب من فريق التفاوض صحة تقارير تحدثت عن عقد جولة جديدة من المفاوضات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران الأسبوع القادم، واستمرار المحادثات الفنية بين الجانبين.
ونقلت وكالة «فارس» الإيرانية عن المصدر قوله: إن التقارير بشأن استكمال الترتيبات لعقد مفاوضات أو استمرار المحادثات الفنية الأسبوع القادم «كاذبة ولا تستند إلى أي أساس واقعي».
من جانبه، قال كبير المفاوضين الإيرانيين محمد باقر قاليباف إن طهران مستعدة «للدفاع الشامل» إذا خالفت واشنطن مذكرة التفاهم الموقعة الشهر الماضي، وإن الحرب لن تنتهي أبداً باستسلام إيران، بحسبما نقلت «رويترز».
وأضاف خلال لقاء مع رئيس الجمعية الاستشارية الشعبية الإندونيسية أحمد موزاني، أنه أبلغ نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جيه. دي. فانس خلال المفاوضات بأن طهران لا تثق بواشنطن، وأنه يرى أن المستعدين للحرب فقط هم من يمكنهم التفاوض مع الولايات المتحدة.
وأدى القصف الأمريكي إلى مقتل 17 شخصاً وإصابة 93 آخرين في إيران خلال يومين رغم مذكرة التفاهم المبرمة بين الطرفين لوقف النزاع، وفق أحدث الأرقام الصادرة عن وزارة الصحة.
وقال مسؤولون عسكريون أمريكيون إن نحو 90 هدفاً عسكرياً إيرانياً استُهدفت في الضربات الأخيرة التي طالت أنظمة دفاع جوي ومواقع تخزين صواريخ وطائرات مسيّرة. إلا أن إيران اتهمت الولايات المتحدة باستهداف بنى تحتية مدنية تشمل جسوراً وخطوط السكك الحديدية الرابطة بين طهران ومشهد (شمال شرق).
وطالت الضربات «محيط» محطة الطاقة النووية في محافظة بوشهر (جنوبا) التي سبق أن طالتها ضربات خلال الحرب، وفق مسؤول إيراني.
وكان ترمب أعلن، الأربعاء، أن مذكرة التفاهم مع إيران «انتهت»، قبل أن يكشف لاحقا عن تواصل إيراني مع واشنطن سعيا إلى إبرام صفقة، في مؤشر إلى استمرار قنوات الاتصال رغم المواجهة العسكرية.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Iran requested the United States to continue talks, but Washington informed them that "the ceasefire is over."
Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform today (Friday): "Iran asked us to continue the discussions. We agreed to do so, but the United States made it clear to them, in no uncertain terms, that the ceasefire is over!"
Axios reported, citing a knowledgeable source, that a new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran is expected to take place next week, likely to be hosted by Switzerland.
The site reported that Qatari negotiators traveled to Iran, in coordination with the United States, to meet with Iranian officials in an effort to de-escalate tensions and prepare the conditions for resuming negotiations.
In Tehran, a knowledgeable source close to the negotiating team denied reports about a new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran taking place next week, and the continuation of technical talks between the two sides.
The Iranian news agency Fars quoted the source as saying that reports regarding the completion of arrangements for holding negotiations or the continuation of technical talks next week are "false and not based on any realistic foundation."
For his part, Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated that Tehran is prepared for "comprehensive defense" if Washington violates the memorandum of understanding signed last month, and that "the war will never end with Iran's surrender," according to Reuters.
He added during a meeting with the head of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly, Ahmad Muzani, that he informed U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance during the negotiations that Tehran does not trust Washington, and that he believes only those prepared for war can negotiate with the United States.
The U.S. bombardment resulted in the deaths of 17 people and injuries to 93 others in Iran over two days, despite the memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties to cease hostilities, according to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Health.
U.S. military officials stated that about 90 Iranian military targets were struck in the recent attacks, which targeted air defense systems and missile and drone storage sites. However, Iran accused the United States of targeting civilian infrastructure, including bridges and railway lines connecting Tehran and Mashhad (northeast).
The strikes also affected the "surroundings" of the nuclear power plant in Bushehr province (south), which had previously been targeted during the war, according to an Iranian official.
Trump announced on Wednesday that the memorandum of understanding with Iran "has ended," before later revealing that Iran had reached out to Washington in an effort to strike a deal, indicating that communication channels remain open despite the military confrontation.
