تسببت موجة الحر في بلجيكا في أواخر يونيو في 1747 وفاة إضافية، وهي أعلى حصيلة على الإطلاق خلال موجة حر في البلاد منذ بدء تسجيل البيانات عام 2000، فيما تشهد فرنسا المجاورة موجة حر جديدة.
وكانت أرقام أولية نشرت الأسبوع الماضي أظهرت وفاة 1222 شخصًا خلال موجة الحر في الفترة ما بين 18 و29 يونيو.
وأوضح معهد الصحة العامة الوطني «سيينسانو» في بيان له أمس، أن ثلاثة عوامل رئيسية تؤثر في الصحة خلال موجة الحر وهي: مدة الموجة، وشدة درجات الحرارة، وتركيزات الأوزون، إذ سجلت هذه الموجة مستويات مرتفعة للغاية في كل عامل منها.
ويتوقع أن تشهد بلجيكا موجة حر جديدة في الأيام القادمة قد تتجاوز خلالها درجات الحرارة العظمى 30 درجة مدة خمسة أيام متتالية ابتداءً من السبت.
وفي السياق ذاته، تشهد فرنسا المجاورة موجة حر هي الثالثة هذا الصيف ومن المتوقع أن تستمر حتى الثلاثاء القادم، وإن كانت أخف من سابقتها.
ووُضعت ثلاثة أرباع المقاطعات الفرنسية تقريبًا في حال تأهب برتقالية بسبب موجة الحر، وحذّرت هيئة الأرصاد الجوية الفرنسية من أن المناطق الواقعة في أقصى الشمال الشرقي للبلاد تشهد أيضًا درجات حرارة شديدة الارتفاع.
وتراوحت الحرارة الخميس بين 35 و39 درجة، وتصل إلى 40-41 درجة قرب ساحل البحر الأبيض المتوسط في منطقة لانغدوك-روسيون، أما في المناطق الواقعة إلى الشمال والشرق، فتتراوح درجات الحرارة عمومًا بين 32 و36 درجة، فيما لا يزال عدد من الحرائق نشطًا، وهي تتأجج بفعل رياح لا تظهر عليها أي بوادر للهدوء.
The heatwave in Belgium at the end of June caused an additional 1,747 deaths, the highest toll ever recorded during a heatwave in the country since data collection began in 2000, while neighboring France is experiencing a new heatwave.
Preliminary figures published last week showed that 1,222 people died during the heatwave from June 18 to 29.
The National Public Health Institute "Sciensano" clarified in a statement yesterday that three main factors affect health during a heatwave: the duration of the wave, the intensity of temperatures, and ozone concentrations, as this wave recorded extremely high levels in each of these factors.
Belgium is expected to experience another heatwave in the coming days, with maximum temperatures possibly exceeding 30 degrees for five consecutive days starting Saturday.
In the same context, neighboring France is experiencing its third heatwave this summer, expected to last until next Tuesday, although it is milder than the previous one.
Almost three-quarters of French departments have been placed on orange alert due to the heatwave, and the French meteorological agency warned that areas in the far northeast of the country are also experiencing extremely high temperatures.
Temperatures on Thursday ranged between 35 and 39 degrees, reaching 40-41 degrees near the Mediterranean coast in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, while in the northern and eastern areas, temperatures generally ranged between 32 and 36 degrees, and several wildfires remain active, fueled by winds that show no signs of calming down.
