طالب الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي، اليوم (الخميس)، الولايات المتحدة بمنح بلاده الضوء الأخضر لتصنيع منظومات الدفاع الجوي بعيدة المدى «باتريوت»، وذلك عقب هجوم روسي على كييف أسفر عن مقتل 17 شخصاً.
وأكد زيلينسكي أن تعزيز القدرات الدفاعية لأوكرانيا يمثل خطوة من شأنها وقف الحرب ومنع تكرار مثل هذه الهجمات، موضحاً أن فرق الإنقاذ لا تزال تواصل إزالة الأنقاض، والبحث عن المفقودين، وتقديم المساعدات للمتضررين.

وأشار إلى تضرر أكثر من 20 موقعاً في كييف، غالبيتها مبانٍ سكنية، إضافة إلى محطة إسعاف، ومنشآت بحثية، وفندق، وعدد من المؤسسات التجارية.
ولفت إلى أن روسيا أطلقت خلال ساعات الليل أكثر من 70 صاروخاً من أنواع مختلفة، نحو نصفها صواريخ باليستية، إلى جانب ما يقرب من 500 طائرة مسيّرة هجومية، بينها مسيّرات «شاهد» المزودة بمحركات نفاثة، مبيناً أن كييف كانت الهدف الرئيسي للهجوم.
وأضاف أن الدفاعات الجوية الأوكرانية تمكنت من اعتراض عدد كبير من الصواريخ والمسيّرات، لكنها لم تتمكن من إسقاطها جميعاً.
وقال زيلينسكي إن منظومات الدفاع الجوي تمثل أولوية قصوى، مضيفاً: «من المهم بشكل خاص إحراز تقدم في تنفيذ اتفاقياتنا المتعلقة بإنتاج القدرات المضادة للصواريخ الباليستية، كما نعتمد كثيراً على قرار الولايات المتحدة بشأن منح التراخيص الخاصة بمنظومات باتريوت، إلى جانب أشكال أخرى من التعاون الدفاعي».
وأكد أن هذه الخطوات يمكن أن تسهم في وقف الحرب ومنع وقوع هجمات مماثلة مستقبلاً.
وشنت روسيا هجوماً واسع النطاق استهدف العاصمة كييف وعدداً من المناطق الأوكرانية، وأسفر عن مقتل 17 شخصاً وإصابة أكثر من 90 آخرين، فضلاً عن أضرار كبيرة في البنية التحتية والمنشآت المدنية.
من جانبه، قال رئيس بلدية كييف فيتالي كليتشكو إن العاصمة ستُحيي يوم حداد على ضحايا أكبر هجوم تتعرض له منذ اندلاع الحرب قبل أكثر من أربع سنوات، فيما تواصل فرق الإنقاذ عمليات البحث بين أنقاض مبنى سكني دمرته الضربات الروسية.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky demanded today (Thursday) that the United States grant his country the green light to manufacture long-range air defense systems "Patriot," following a Russian attack on Kyiv that resulted in the deaths of 17 people.
Zelensky confirmed that enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities is a step that could stop the war and prevent the recurrence of such attacks, explaining that rescue teams are still continuing to remove debris, search for the missing, and provide assistance to those affected.

He noted that more than 20 sites in Kyiv were damaged, most of them residential buildings, in addition to an ambulance station, research facilities, a hotel, and several commercial establishments.
He pointed out that Russia launched more than 70 missiles of various types during the night, nearly half of which were ballistic missiles, along with nearly 500 attack drones, including "Shahed" drones equipped with jet engines, indicating that Kyiv was the main target of the attack.
He added that Ukrainian air defenses managed to intercept a large number of missiles and drones, but they were unable to shoot them all down.
Zelensky stated that air defense systems are a top priority, adding: "It is especially important to make progress in implementing our agreements related to the production of capabilities against ballistic missiles, and we rely heavily on the U.S. decision regarding granting licenses for Patriot systems, along with other forms of defense cooperation."
He confirmed that these steps could contribute to stopping the war and preventing similar attacks in the future.
Russia launched a large-scale attack targeting the capital Kyiv and several Ukrainian regions, resulting in the deaths of 17 people and injuries to more than 90 others, in addition to significant damage to infrastructure and civilian facilities.
For his part, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that the capital will observe a day of mourning for the victims of the largest attack it has faced since the outbreak of the war more than four years ago, while rescue teams continue their search operations among the rubble of a residential building destroyed by Russian strikes.
