استقبل الرئيس الباكستاني آصف علي زرداري ورئيس الوزراء شهباز شريف، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بيزشكيان في العاصمة إسلام آباد.
وذكرت مصادر دبلوماسية أن وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي انضم إلى بيزشكيان قادماً من سلطنة عُمان، ويتوقع أن تركز الزيارة على المشاورات الباكستانية الإيرانية، والتقدم في المحادثات الأمريكية-الإيرانية، وتوسيع التعاون الثنائي.
وذكرت الرئاسة الإيرانية أن الرئيس مسعود بيزشكيان بحث مع قائد الجيش الباكستاني عاصم منير التطورات الإقليمية وسبل توسيع التعاون المشترك، مبينة أن بيزشكيان وقائد الجيش الباكستاني أكدا ضرورة تعزيز التنسيق الأمني بين إيران وباكستان.
وذكرت مصادر باكستانية أن الزيارة تشمل التحضيرات للمرحلة التالية من المحادثات الأمريكية-الإيرانية عقب مفاوضات سويسرا، التي اختتمت جانبها الفني أمس، إضافة إلى تنفيذ مذكرة التفاهم الموقعة في إسلام آباد، والمسار التفاوضي على مدار الـ60 يوماً القادمة، بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران.
وأفادت المصادر أن المناقشات ستتناول تخفيف العقوبات، والبرنامج النووي الإيراني، وآليات الرقابة والالتزام بالاتفاق، والأمن البحري، وحركة الشحن التجاري في مضيق هرمز، وإنشاء آلية تنسيق لخفض التوتر في لبنان، وكذلك تعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي بين باكستان وإيران، وأمن الحدود، والتجارة الثنائية.
وينظر إلى زيارة الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بيزشكيان لباكستان على أنها إشارة إلى أن طهران تولي أهمية كبيرة لدور الوساطة الباكستاني، وترغب في الحفاظ على تنسيق وثيق مع إسلام آباد قبل المرحلة القادمة من المفاوضات الأمريكية-الإيرانية. وتزامنت زيارة بيزشكيان مع بدء الجولة الخامسة من المفاوضات بين لبنان وإسرائيل في مقر الخارجية الأمريكية بواشنطن.
The Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif received the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian today (Tuesday) in the capital Islamabad.
Diplomatic sources reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi joined Pezeshkian coming from Oman, and the visit is expected to focus on Pakistani-Iranian consultations, progress in US-Iranian talks, and expanding bilateral cooperation.
The Iranian presidency stated that President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed regional developments and ways to expand joint cooperation with the Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir, indicating that Pezeshkian and the Pakistani Army Chief emphasized the necessity of enhancing security coordination between Iran and Pakistan.
Pakistani sources mentioned that the visit includes preparations for the next phase of US-Iranian talks following the Swiss negotiations, which concluded their technical aspect yesterday, in addition to implementing the memorandum of understanding signed in Islamabad, and the negotiation track over the next 60 days between the United States and Iran.
The sources reported that discussions will address sanctions relief, the Iranian nuclear program, mechanisms for monitoring and compliance with the agreement, maritime security, and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as establishing a coordination mechanism to reduce tensions in Lebanon, and enhancing economic cooperation between Pakistan and Iran, border security, and bilateral trade.
The visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Pakistan is seen as a signal that Tehran places great importance on Pakistan's mediating role and wishes to maintain close coordination with Islamabad before the next phase of US-Iranian negotiations. Pezeshkian's visit coincided with the start of the fifth round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel at the US State Department in Washington.
