أكد نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جي دي فانس اليوم (الإثنين) أن هناك تقدماً في المفاوضات الفنية بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران.
وقال فانس لدى مغادرته سويسرا اليوم: «طلبنا من قطر مساعدتنا في إيجاد آلية لضمان أين ستذهب الأموال الإيرانية»، موضحاً أنه لا يمكن الوثوق بأقوال الطرف الآخر بل بأفعاله.
وأضاف: «لن يُرفع التجميد عن الأموال الإيرانية ما لم يتحقق تقدم في المفاوضات».
وكان فانس قد أشاد في وقت سابق بتقدم المحادثات بشأن البرنامج النووي، الذي قال إنه «جيد للغاية»، معلناً موافقة طهران على السماح بدخول مفتشي الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية.
بدوره، قال الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب إن إيران ستوافق على إجراء عمليات تفتيش شاملة للأسلحة لضمان النزاهة النووية.
وكتب ترمب، في منشور على منصة «تروث سوشال»: «الجميع يدركون تماماً أن إيران ستوافق على إجراء عمليات تفتيش شاملة للأسلحة لضمان النزاهة النووية لفترة طويلة في المستقبل».
في المقابل، قال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي إن طهران لم تتفاوض بشأن برنامجها النووي ولم تقبل أي التزامات جديدة في المحادثات مع الولايات المتحدة في سويسرا أمس.
وأضاف بقائي أن تفاعل إيران مع الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية سيستمر وفقاً للإجراءات الحالية، شريطة موافقة البرلمان الإيراني وقرارات المجلس الأعلى للأمن القومي.
U.S. Vice President JD Vance confirmed today (Monday) that there has been progress in the technical negotiations between the United States and Iran.
Vance stated as he left Switzerland today: “We asked Qatar to help us find a mechanism to ensure where the Iranian funds will go,” explaining that one cannot trust the words of the other party but rather their actions.
He added: “The freeze on Iranian funds will not be lifted unless progress is made in the negotiations.”
Earlier, Vance praised the progress in talks regarding the nuclear program, which he said is “very good,” announcing Tehran's agreement to allow International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to enter.
For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Iran will agree to conduct comprehensive weapons inspections to ensure nuclear integrity.
Trump wrote in a post on the “Truth Social” platform: “Everyone fully understands that Iran will agree to conduct comprehensive weapons inspections to ensure nuclear integrity for a long time into the future.”
In contrast, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqaei stated that Tehran did not negotiate its nuclear program and did not accept any new commitments in the talks with the United States in Switzerland yesterday.
Baqaei added that Iran's interaction with the International Atomic Energy Agency will continue according to current procedures, provided that the Iranian parliament and the Supreme National Security Council's decisions agree.
