أكد الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون، اليوم (الأربعاء)، أن مسار التفاوض مع إسرائيل مستقل عن التفاهم الذي أعلنت طهران وواشنطن التوصل إليه لإنهاء الحرب في الشرق الأوسط.
وذكرت الرئاسة اللبنانية أن عون قال: «التأكيدات التي بلغتنا وما نصرّ عليه هو أن لبنان مساره مستقل في المفاوضات، وإن كنا بالتأكيد مع وقف إطلاق النار ومع أي دولة تساعدنا»، مشيراً إلى أن «التفاوض تقوم به الدولة اللبنانية، والأسبوع القادم ستكون هناك جولة جديدة، نأمل أن تكون أكثر إيجابية، لا سيما في ظل الاهتمام الكبير للإدارة الأمريكية بلبنان».
وأضاف: «الدولة اللبنانية سيدة قرارها، ولأول مرة هي التي تقوم بالتفاوض، وما من أحد يفاوض عنها».
وطمأن جوزيف عون اللبنانيين بالقول: «أطمئن اللبنانيين إلى ألا أحد يربطنا بأي دولة أخرى، وأي تسوية ستتم من خلالنا لا على حسابنا».
ورغم أن إيران والولايات المتحدة أعلنتا، مع حلفائهما في الحرب الحالية، فور توقيع «مذكرة التفاهم»، نهاية فورية ودائمة للحرب على جميع الجبهات، بما في ذلك لبنان، شنت القوات الإسرائيلية اليوم غارات على مناطق عدة في الجنوب، وفق ما أوردته وسائل الإعلام الرسمية.
وأفادت «الوكالة الوطنية للإعلام» بأن الطيران الحربي الإسرائيلي شن غارات استهدفت بلدة النبطية الفوقا قرب مدينة النبطية، إحدى أكبر مدن جنوب لبنان، والأطراف الشرقية لبلدة كفرتبنيت المجاورة، إضافة إلى ضربة نفذتها مسيّرة على بلدة أنصاريه في منطقة الزهراني.
ورغم تراجع حدة الضربات في لبنان عقب إعلان الاتفاق بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران لإنهاء الحرب في الشرق الأوسط، قُتل خمسة أشخاص على الأقل في جنوب لبنان جراء غارات إسرائيلية، وفق الوكالة الوطنية.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirmed today (Wednesday) that the negotiation process with Israel is independent of the understanding announced by Tehran and Washington to end the war in the Middle East.
The Lebanese presidency reported that Aoun stated: "The assurances we have received and what we insist on is that Lebanon's path is independent in negotiations, and while we are certainly in favor of a ceasefire and any country that helps us," pointing out that "the negotiations are being conducted by the Lebanese state, and next week there will be a new round, we hope it will be more positive, especially in light of the great interest of the U.S. administration in Lebanon."
He added: "The Lebanese state is the master of its decision, and for the first time it is the one conducting the negotiations, and no one is negotiating on its behalf."
Joseph Aoun reassured the Lebanese by saying: "I assure the Lebanese that no one ties us to any other country, and any settlement that will take place will be through us, not at our expense."
Despite Iran and the United States announcing, along with their allies in the current war, an immediate and permanent end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, upon signing the "Memorandum of Understanding," Israeli forces today launched airstrikes on several areas in the south, according to official media reports.
The "National News Agency" reported that Israeli warplanes carried out strikes targeting the town of Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa near the city of Nabatiyeh, one of the largest cities in southern Lebanon, and the eastern outskirts of the neighboring town of Kfar Tebnit, in addition to a strike carried out by a drone on the town of Ansariyeh in the Zahrani area.
Despite the decrease in the intensity of strikes in Lebanon following the announcement of the agreement between the United States and Iran to end the war in the Middle East, at least five people were killed in southern Lebanon due to Israeli airstrikes, according to the National Agency.
