أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، اليوم (الأربعاء)، أن الاتفاق سيؤدي إلى ولادة دولة إيرانية من دون سلاح نووي، واصفاً مذكرة التفاهم بأنها «قوية للغاية».
وقال ترمب، في تصريحات للصحفيين خلال لقائه رئيس الوزراء الهندي ناريندرا مودي: «استغلت إيران العالم على مدى 47 عاماً، وصفقتي الحالية هي جدار يمنع إيران من امتلاك سلاح نووي»، مؤكداً أنه منع إيران من امتلاك سلاح نووي.
وأضاف: «مذكرة التفاهم معها طويلة، وأعتقد أنها ستتحول إلى اتفاق دائم»، مشيراً إلى أن إيران لن تمتلك سلاحاً نووياً، وأن مضيق هرمز سيفتح فوراً.
وهدّد ترمب بالعودة إلى نقطة الصفر إذا نكثت إيران بالاتفاق، قائلاً: «إذا لم تلتزم إيران بمذكرة التفاهم فسنعود إلى البداية مجدداً»، لافتاً إلى أن هناك ارتفاعاً هائلاً في مؤشرات سوق الأسهم بفضل التسوية مع إيران، فيما تشهد أسعار النفط انخفاضاً حاداً.
من جانبه، قال رئيس الوزراء الهندي إن «إبقاء مضيق هرمز مفتوحاً أمر حيوي للاقتصاد العالمي».
وكان ترمب قد حذّر، في وقت سابق اليوم، من أنه إذا لم يُحسن الإيرانيون التصرف، «فسنعود مباشرة إلى إلقاء القنابل على رؤوسهم».
وأعلن الرئيس الأمريكي أن مضيق هرمز سيُفتح بالكامل أمام الملاحة البحرية خلال اليومين القادمين، وقال: «سيُفتح المضيق. إنه مفتوح جزئياً بالفعل، وسيُفتح بالكامل خلال يوم أو اليومين القادمين».
وكان نحو 20% من إمدادات النفط العالمية يمر عبر المضيق قبل اندلاع الأزمة.
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed today (Wednesday) that the agreement will lead to the birth of an Iranian state without nuclear weapons, describing the memorandum of understanding as "very strong."
Trump stated in remarks to reporters during his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi: "Iran has exploited the world for 47 years, and my current deal is a wall preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons," emphasizing that he has prevented Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
He added: "The memorandum of understanding with them is long, and I believe it will turn into a permanent agreement," pointing out that Iran will not possess nuclear weapons and that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened immediately.
Trump threatened to return to square one if Iran violates the agreement, saying: "If Iran does not adhere to the memorandum of understanding, we will go back to the beginning again," noting that there has been a huge increase in stock market indicators thanks to the settlement with Iran, while oil prices are experiencing a sharp decline.
For his part, the Indian Prime Minister stated that "keeping the Strait of Hormuz open is vital for the global economy."
Earlier today, Trump warned that if the Iranians do not behave properly, "we will go straight back to dropping bombs on their heads."
The U.S. President announced that the Strait of Hormuz will be fully opened to maritime navigation in the coming two days, saying: "The strait will be opened. It is already partially open, and it will be fully opened within a day or two."
Before the crisis erupted, about 20% of global oil supplies passed through the strait.
