وسط تأكيدات من سكان فلسطينيين في غزة على توسيع إسرائيل نطاق سيطرتها على الأراضي في القطاع، كشفت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية عن خطة للجيش لتوسيع السيطرة الهادئة والضم التدريجي للأراضي رغم معارضة واشنطن.
وذكرت القناة الـ13 الإسرائيلية أن إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أوقفت أخيراً عملية عسكرية كانت إسرائيل تخطط لتنفيذها في قطاع غزة، مبينة أن العملية المخطط لها نوقشت على أعلى المستويات السياسية والأمنية في إسرائيل، غير أن واشنطن أبدت استياءها بعد اطلاعها على تفاصيل الخطة، وطلبت من تل أبيب عدم المضي في تنفيذها.
وأفادت القناة أن الجيش الإسرائيلي يعمل خلال الفترة الأخيرة على تنفيذ ما وصفته بـ«ضم تدريجي وهادئ» لأراضٍ داخل قطاع غزة، بدلاً من العملية العسكرية الواسعة التي كان يجري الإعداد لها.
في الوقت ذاته، فر سكان منطقة بشمال غزة من منازلهم بعد أن وسعت القوات الإسرائيلية نطاق سيطرتها على الأراضي هناك.
وأفادت المصادر الفلسطينية أنه ورغم سيطرة إسرائيل على أكثر من 60% من أراضي غزة، إلا أنها أمرت السكان بالإخلاء ودمرت ما تبقى من أبنية.
وذكر شهود عيان أن القوات الإسرائيلية وسّعت خلال الأيام القليلة الماضية المنطقة الصفراء التي تسيطر عليها في شرق خان يونس وشمال رفح، ووضعت علامات جديدة وكتلاً خرسانية وتوغلت بالدبابات في حي التفاح بمدينة غزة (الأحد)، ما أجبر العديد من العائلات على النزوح.
Amid assurances from Palestinian residents in Gaza about Israel expanding its control over lands in the sector, Israeli media revealed a plan by the army to quietly expand control and gradually annex territories despite Washington's opposition.
The Israeli Channel 13 reported that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump recently halted a military operation that Israel was planning to carry out in the Gaza Strip, indicating that the planned operation was discussed at the highest political and security levels in Israel. However, Washington expressed its discontent after being informed of the plan's details and requested Tel Aviv not to proceed with its implementation.
The channel stated that the Israeli army has been working in recent times to implement what it described as a "gradual and quiet annexation" of lands within the Gaza Strip, instead of the large-scale military operation that was being prepared.
At the same time, residents of the northern Gaza area fled their homes after Israeli forces expanded their control over the lands there.
Palestinian sources reported that despite Israel's control over more than 60% of Gaza's lands, it ordered residents to evacuate and destroyed what remained of buildings.
Eyewitnesses mentioned that in the past few days, Israeli forces expanded the yellow zone they control in eastern Khan Younis and northern Rafah, placed new markers and concrete blocks, and advanced with tanks into the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City (on Sunday), forcing many families to flee.
