أفصح مسؤول إيراني رفيع أن طهران وافقت بموجب مذكرة التفاهم مع الولايات المتحدة على أنها لن تنتج أو تمتلك أسلحة نووية.
ونقلت وكالة «رويترز» عن المسؤول قوله: إن واشنطن وافقت على تخفيف مخزون اليورانيوم عالي التخصيب داخل الأراضي الإيرانية، لافتاً إلى أنه سيتم مناقشة الآلية خلال 60 يوماً القادمة.
وأعلن أنه بموجب مسودة مذكرة مع واشنطن، توافق إيران على الإبقاء على الوضع النووي القائم حتى التوصل إلى اتفاق نهائي، بما في ذلك عدم تخصيب اليورانيوم أو توسيع المنشآت النووية.
وقال المسؤول الإيراني إن بموجب مسودة المذكرة، ستقوم الولايات المتحدة برفع أو تعليق عقوبات النفط على إيران لفترة محددة، ما يسمح لطهران ببيع النفط وتلقي العائدات. ولفت إلى أن إيران ستعيد فتح مضيق هرمز فوراً أمام جميع السفن التجارية، بينما سترفع أمريكا الحصار البحري عن الموانئ الإيرانية.
وأضاف أن الولايات المتحدة وافقت على الإفراج عن 25 مليار دولار من الأصول الإيرانية المجمدة، بما في ذلك عبر تحويلات نقدية مباشرة، وتعاون بين دول المنطقة، وخطوط الائتمان المالي.
وكانت وكالة أنباء «فارس» الإيرانية، نقلت عن مصدر مطلع قريب من فريق التفاوض الإيراني، قوله: إن القرار النهائي لطهران بشأن مذكرة التفاهم مع واشنطن، لا يزال قيد الدراسة.
وأضاف أن «إيران لم تعلن بعد قرارها النهائي بشأن مذكرة التفاهم المقترحة. لا تزال دراسة الأبعاد السياسية والقانونية والفنية للمقترحات المطروحة مستمرة».
ونقلت الوكالة عن مصادر مطلعة قولها إن «دراسة مختلف أبعاد المقترحات لا تزال مستمرة على المستويين الفني وصنع القرار، وأن الجهات المعنية تقوم بتقييم دقيق للجوانب السياسية والقانونية والفنية للموضوع».
A senior Iranian official revealed that Tehran has agreed, under a memorandum of understanding with the United States, that it will not produce or possess nuclear weapons.
Reuters reported the official as saying that Washington has agreed to reduce the stockpile of highly enriched uranium within Iranian territory, noting that the mechanism will be discussed in the next 60 days.
He announced that under a draft memorandum with Washington, Iran agrees to maintain the current nuclear situation until a final agreement is reached, including not enriching uranium or expanding nuclear facilities.
The Iranian official stated that under the draft memorandum, the United States will lift or suspend oil sanctions on Iran for a specified period, allowing Tehran to sell oil and receive revenues. He pointed out that Iran will immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz to all commercial vessels, while the U.S. will lift the naval blockade on Iranian ports.
He added that the United States has agreed to release $25 billion of frozen Iranian assets, including through direct cash transfers, cooperation among regional countries, and financial credit lines.
The Iranian news agency "Fars" reported that a source close to the Iranian negotiating team said that Tehran's final decision regarding the memorandum of understanding with Washington is still under consideration.
He added that "Iran has not yet announced its final decision regarding the proposed memorandum of understanding. The study of the political, legal, and technical dimensions of the proposed suggestions is still ongoing."
The agency quoted informed sources as saying that "the study of various dimensions of the proposals is still ongoing at both the technical and decision-making levels, and the relevant parties are conducting a thorough assessment of the political, legal, and technical aspects of the matter."
