فيما تلقى رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو اتصالاً هاتفياً من الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب عقب الهجوم الإيراني، أكدت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية أمس (الأحد) أن الولايات المتحدة طلبت من إسرائيل التريث بضعة أيام قبل الرد.
وذكرت صحيفة «يديعوت أحرونوت» أن الولايات المتحدة أبلغت إسرائيل بأنه من الأفضل الانتظار بضعة أيام قبل أي تصعيد، مبينة أن واشنطن أكدت لتل أبيب أنها ستمضي معها إذا فشل الاتفاق مع إيران.
وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن إسرائيل قد لا ترد فوراً على الهجمات الإيرانية، فيما قال رئيس الأركان الإسرائيلي إيال زامير: «سنضرب إيران بقوة فور الحصول على الضوء الأخضر».
بدوره، قال المتحدث باسم الجيش الإسرائيلي العميد إيفي دفرين إن رئيس الأركان الفريق إيال زامير يصادق على خطط لعمليات عسكرية مستقبلية عقب الهجوم الصاروخي الإيراني الأخير، مؤكداً أن الجيش جاهز ومستعد لمواجهة أي تطورات.
وأضاف دفرين، في تصريحات متلفزة، أن إسرائيل تستعد لاحتمال تعرضها لمزيد من الهجمات الإيرانية، معتبراً أن طهران ارتكبت «خطأً جسيماً».
وأشار إلى أن إسرائيل ستواصل عملياتها ضد «حزب الله» في لبنان، قائلاً إن إيران تحاول فرض معادلة جديدة من خلال مهاجمة إسرائيل رداً على عملياتها في لبنان، مضيفاً: «لن نسمح بذلك».
ولم يؤكد المتحدث العسكري الإسرائيلي ما إذا كانت إسرائيل ستنفذ رداً فورياً على الهجوم الإيراني.
من جهة أخرى، وجهت السفارة الأمريكية في إسرائيل جميع الموظفين الحكوميين وأفراد أسرهم إلى الاحتماء في أماكنهم.
في المقابل، أكدت وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية أن الضربات التي استهدفت إسرائيل كانت دفاعية.
وفي السياق ذاته، وصف مصدر في الخارجية الباكستانية لشبكة «إم إس ناو» زيارة وزير الداخلية الباكستاني إلى طهران بأنها «إيجابية»، مشيراً إلى أن إيران أبدت مؤشرات على التقدم نحو الموافقة على مذكرة التفاهم.
من جهة أخرى، نفت سلطة الطيران المدني العراقية سقوط طائرة مدنية في محافظة كربلاء وسط العراق، مؤكدة إغلاق الأجواء أمام جميع الرحلات الجوية القادمة والمغادرة والعابرة لمدة 72 ساعة، بشكل مؤقت واحترازي.
While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received a phone call from U.S. President Donald Trump following the Iranian attack, Israeli media confirmed yesterday (Sunday) that the United States requested Israel to wait a few days before responding.
The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported that the United States informed Israel that it would be better to wait a few days before any escalation, indicating that Washington assured Tel Aviv it would stand by them if the agreement with Iran failed.
The newspaper noted that Israel may not respond immediately to the Iranian attacks, while Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said, "We will strike Iran hard as soon as we get the green light."
For his part, Israeli military spokesman Brigadier General Ivi Dvorkin stated that Chief of Staff General Eyal Zamir is approving plans for future military operations following the recent Iranian missile attack, confirming that the army is ready and prepared to face any developments.
Dvorkin added, in televised remarks, that Israel is preparing for the possibility of further Iranian attacks, considering that Tehran has made a "grave mistake."
He pointed out that Israel will continue its operations against "Hezbollah" in Lebanon, stating that Iran is trying to impose a new equation by attacking Israel in response to its operations in Lebanon, adding: "We will not allow that."
The Israeli military spokesman did not confirm whether Israel would carry out an immediate response to the Iranian attack.
On another note, the U.S. Embassy in Israel directed all government employees and their families to shelter in place.
In contrast, the Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the strikes targeting Israel were defensive.
In the same context, a source in the Pakistani Foreign Ministry described the visit of the Pakistani Interior Minister to Tehran as "positive," indicating that Iran has shown signs of progress towards agreeing to the memorandum of understanding.
On the other hand, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority denied the crash of a civilian aircraft in Karbala province in central Iraq, confirming the temporary and precautionary closure of airspace to all incoming, outgoing, and transiting flights for 72 hours.
