أدان الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية أحمد أبو الغيط، الاعتداء الذي استهدف محطة براكة للطاقة النووية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة بطائرة مسيّرة، مؤكداً أن هذا الاعتداء يمثل تصعيداً خطيراً وانتهاكاً للقانون الدولي وأعراف حماية المنشآت النووية المدنية.
وأعرب أبو الغيط في بيان عن ارتياحه لتأكيد الهيئة الاتحادية للرقابة النووية في الإمارات على أن الحريق الذي اندلع في محيط المحطة لم يؤثر على سلامة المنشأة أو مستويات السلامة الإشعاعية، مؤكداً تضامن جامعة الدول العربية مع دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة ودعم الإجراءات التي تتخذها للحفاظ على أمنها واستقرارها وحماية مقدراتها.
The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, condemned the attack that targeted the Barakah nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates with a drone, affirming that this attack represents a serious escalation and a violation of international law and norms for the protection of civil nuclear facilities.
Aboul Gheit expressed in a statement his relief at the confirmation by the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation in the UAE that the fire that broke out in the vicinity of the plant did not affect the safety of the facility or radiation safety levels, affirming the solidarity of the Arab League with the United Arab Emirates and support for the measures it is taking to maintain its security and stability and protect its resources.
