كشف الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الأربعاء) عن إيقاف إيران إعدام 8 نساء وسيتم الإفراج عن 4 منهن فوراً، فيما سيُحكم على الأخريات بالسجن شهراً.
وكتب ترمب على حسابه في منصة «تروث سشيال»: «خبر جيد جداً، لقد أُبلغت للتو أن النساء الثمان المحتجات اللواتي كان من المقرر إعدامهن الليلة في إيران لن يتم قتلهن بعد الآن»، مضيفاً: «سيتم الإفراج عن أربع منهن فوراً، بينما سيتم الحكم على الأربع الأخريات بالسجن لمدة شهر واحد».
وتابع ترمب: أُقدّر كثيراً أن إيران وقيادتها احترموا طلبي، بصفتي رئيس الولايات المتحدة، وأوقفوا عملية الإعدام المخطط لها.
من جهة أخرى، نقلت القناة 12 الإسرائيلية عن مصادر قولها إن واشنطن أبلغت تل أبيب أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب حدد الأحد القادم موعداً نهائياً للمفاوضات مع إيران.
فيما قال مسؤول باكستاني لصحيفة «نيويورك تايمز»: إن جولة ثانية من المفاوضات قد تعقد خلال الأيام القليلة القادمة، موضحاً أن الوسطاء الباكستانيين تلقوا إشارات إيجابية من إيران بعد تمديد وقف إطلاق النار.
في المقابل، قال رئيس البرلمان الإيراني محمد باقر قاليباف: وقف إطلاق النار يكون له معنى عندما لا يُنتهك بالحصار البحري وارتهان الاقتصاد العالمي، مضيفاً: لا يمكن إعادة فتح مضيق هرمز مع وجود انتهاك صارخ لوقف إطلاق النار.
جاء ذلك في الوقت الذي ذكرت صحيفة «واشنطن بوست» أن "البنتاغون" أبلغ الكونغرس أن تطهير مضيق هرمز بالكامل من الألغام قد يستغرق 6 أشهر، مبينة أنه من غير المرجح تنفيذ عملية لتطهير مضيق هرمز من الألغام قبل انتهاء الحرب.
U.S. President Donald Trump revealed today (Wednesday) that Iran has halted the execution of 8 women, and 4 of them will be released immediately, while the others will be sentenced to one month in prison.
Trump wrote on his account on the "Truth Social" platform: "Very good news, I was just informed that the eight protesting women who were scheduled to be executed tonight in Iran will not be killed anymore," adding: "Four of them will be released immediately, while the other four will be sentenced to one month in prison."
Trump continued: I greatly appreciate that Iran and its leadership respected my request, as President of the United States, and halted the planned executions.
On another note, Israeli Channel 12 reported that Washington informed Tel Aviv that U.S. President Donald Trump set next Sunday as a deadline for negotiations with Iran.
A Pakistani official told the "New York Times" that a second round of negotiations may take place in the coming days, explaining that Pakistani mediators received positive signals from Iran after the ceasefire was extended.
In contrast, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said: A ceasefire has meaning when it is not violated by a naval blockade and the hostage of the global economy, adding: The Strait of Hormuz cannot be reopened with a blatant violation of the ceasefire.
This comes at a time when the "Washington Post" reported that the Pentagon informed Congress that completely clearing the Strait of Hormuz of mines could take 6 months, indicating that it is unlikely that an operation to clear the Strait of Hormuz from mines will be carried out before the war ends.
