لوح الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بإرسال قوات أمريكية على الأرض في إيران، مع استمرار الصراع، مؤكّدًا أن أي خطوة من هذا النوع يجب أن تكون "لسبب وجيه للغاية".
وعلى متن الطائرة الرئاسية (Air Force One)(السبت)، رفض ترمب الدخول في تفاصيل، موضحًا: "لا أريد حتى التحدث عن هذا الآن… هل يمكن أن يكون هناك سبب؟ ربما، لسبب وجيه للغاية". وأضاف أن أي تدخل بري سيكون مدمرًا لدرجة تجعل خصوم الولايات المتحدة غير قادرين على القتال على الأرض.
وحول احتمال استخدام القوات البرية لتأمين اليورانيوم المخصب في المواقع النووية الإيرانية، قال ترمب إن الأمر وارد نظريًا لكنه ليس على جدول الأعمال الحالي. وأكد: "سنكتشف ذلك لاحقًا… لن نفعله الآن، لكن هذا شيء يمكننا فعله في المستقبل".
ويأتي هذا في سياق مبررات إدارة ترمب للحرب، والتي ركّزت على منع إيران من تطوير سلاح نووي، وسط استمرار تكهنات حول الخيارات العسكرية الأمريكية المحتملة في المنطقة.
U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at sending American troops on the ground in Iran, as the conflict continues, asserting that any step of this kind must be "for a very good reason."
Onboard Air Force One (Saturday), Trump refused to go into details, explaining: "I don't even want to talk about this right now... Could there be a reason? Perhaps, for a very good reason." He added that any ground intervention would be so devastating that U.S. adversaries would be unable to fight on the ground.
Regarding the possibility of using ground forces to secure enriched uranium at Iranian nuclear sites, Trump said it is theoretically possible but not on the current agenda. He confirmed: "We will figure that out later... We won't do it now, but that's something we can do in the future."
This comes in the context of the Trump administration's justifications for war, which focused on preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, amid ongoing speculation about potential U.S. military options in the region.
