أعلن المتحدث الرسمي باسم وزارة الدفاع السعودية اللواء الركن تركي المالكي إحباط محاولة استهداف بطائرة مسيّرة كانت متجهة نحو الحي الدبلوماسي في الرياض، مؤكداً أنه تم التعامل معها وإسقاطها دون تسجيل أي أضرار مادية أو إصابات بين المدنيين.
وأوضح المالكي أنه تم اعتراض وتدمير ست طائرات مسيّرة شرق الرياض، ومسيّرة أخرى في الاتجاه نفسه.
The official spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced the thwarting of an attempt to target the diplomatic quarter in Riyadh with a drone, confirming that it was dealt with and shot down without any material damage or injuries among civilians.
Al-Maliki clarified that six drones were intercepted and destroyed east of Riyadh, along with another drone in the same direction.
