أكد وزير الخارجية المصري الدكتور بدر عبد العاطي، أن مصر ستواصل اتصالاتها الدؤوبة وجهودها الصادقة مع الشركاء الإقليميين والجانبين الأمريكي والإيراني للدفع بالحلول الدبلوماسية والسياسية.
وبحسب بيان صادر عن وزارة الخارجية المصرية، اليوم (الخميس)، أجرى عبد العاطي، اتصالات مكثفة على مدار اليومين الأخيرين مع كل من رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير خارجية قطر الشيخ محمد بن عبد الرحمن آل ثاني، ووزير خارجية سلطنة عمان بدر بن حمد البوسعيدي، ووزير خارجية إيران عباس عراقجي، بالإضافة إلى المبعوث الأمريكي الخاص للشرق الأوسط ستيف ويتكوف.
الاتصالات تناولت الجهود المبذولة لخفض التصعيد واحتواء حالة التوتر المتصاعدة في المنطقة، وتطورات اللقاء المزمع عقده بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران في سلطنة عمان، حيث ثمن الوزير عبد العاطي التوافق المبدئي لعقد اللقاء، وهو التطور الذي طالما سعت مصر لتحقيقه وتهيئة الأجواء لعقد الاجتماع عبر تحركات دبلوماسية دؤوبة وسلسلة من الاتصالات المكثفة التي جرت على مدار الأسابيع الماضية تنفيذاً لتوجيهات رئيس الجمهورية.
وأكد في هذا السياق الأهمية القصوى لتوصل الولايات المتحدة وإيران إلى تسوية سلمية وتوافقية تعالج شواغل كافة الأطراف على اساس الاحترام المتبادل والمنفعة المشتركة، وبما يسهم في تجنيب المنطقة شبح الحرب، مؤكدًا أهمية تخطي أي خلافات خلال هذه المرحلة الدقيقة بما يضمن صون الأمن الإقليمي ويحقق مصالح شعوب المنطقة في الاستقرار والتنمية.
وأعرب الوزير عبد العاطي عن الأمل في أن يسفر اللقاء عن خفض حدة التوتر والتصعيد بالمنطقة، والدفع بالحلول الدبلوماسية والسياسية، مؤكدًا أنه لا توجد حلول عسكرية لمختلف الأزمات والتحديات التي تواجه المنطقة، وأن المخرج الوحيد لضمان أمن واستقرار الإقليم يكمن في المسارات السياسية والدبلوماسية، وتجنب الانزلاق نحو حالة من انعدام الامن والاستقرار.
The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Atti, confirmed that Egypt will continue its diligent communications and sincere efforts with regional partners and both the American and Iranian sides to promote diplomatic and political solutions.
According to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today (Thursday), Abdel Atti has conducted intensive communications over the past two days with both the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Foreign Minister of Oman, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, in addition to the U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Wittekov.
The communications addressed the efforts made to de-escalate and contain the rising tensions in the region, as well as the developments regarding the upcoming meeting between the United States and Iran in Oman. Minister Abdel Atti praised the preliminary agreement to hold the meeting, which is a development that Egypt has long sought to achieve, preparing the atmosphere for the meeting through diligent diplomatic efforts and a series of intensive communications that have taken place over the past weeks in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic.
In this context, he emphasized the utmost importance of the United States and Iran reaching a peaceful and consensual settlement that addresses the concerns of all parties based on mutual respect and common benefit, contributing to sparing the region from the specter of war. He stressed the importance of overcoming any disagreements during this critical phase to ensure regional security and achieve the interests of the peoples of the region in stability and development.
Minister Abdel Atti expressed hope that the meeting would result in a reduction of tension and escalation in the region, promoting diplomatic and political solutions. He affirmed that there are no military solutions to the various crises and challenges facing the region, and that the only way to ensure the security and stability of the region lies in political and diplomatic pathways, avoiding a slide into a state of insecurity and instability.
