أعلن المدعي العام في إسطنبول، اليوم (الخميس)، توقيف 115 شخصاً يُشتبه بانتمائهم إلى تنظيم داعش وتخطيطهم لهجمات خلال فترة أعياء رأس السنة الميلادية.
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء التركية «الأناضول» عن بيان صادر عن مكتب المدعي العام قوله: إنه في إطار التحقيقات التي أجرتها إدارة مكافحة الإرهاب التابعة لمديرية أمن إسطنبول، تم التوصل إلى معلومات تشير إلى أن التنظيم يخطط لشن هجمات تستهدف غير المسلمين، وذلك خلال احتفالات رأس السنة الجديدة.
وأشار البيان إلى أنه جرى تنفيذ عمليات مداهمة متزامنة في 124 موقعاً بعموم إسطنبول، وتم خلال التفتيش ضبط مسدسات وذخيرة والعديد من الوثائق التنظيمية، موضحاً أن العمليات أسفرت عن إلقاء القبض على 115 مشتبهاً به، وأن الجهود لا تزال متواصلة للقبض على مشتبهين آخرين.
وذكرت وسائل إعلام تركية أن النائب العام أصدر أمراً باعتقال 137 شخصاً، تم توقيف 115 منهم.
وكانت أجهزة الاستخبارات التركية أعلنت الأسبوع الماضي توقيف شخص تركي بين أفغانستان وباكستان يشتبه بأنه قيادي في التنظيم الإرهابي وكان يخطط لاعتداءات في المنطقة وحتى في أوروبا، مبينة أن المشتبه به محمد غورن يُعد لهجمات انتحارية تستهدف مدنيين في أفغانستان وباكستان وتركيا وأوروبا.
The public prosecutor in Istanbul announced today (Thursday) the arrest of 115 individuals suspected of belonging to ISIS and planning attacks during the New Year's Eve celebrations.
The Turkish news agency "Anadolu" reported a statement from the public prosecutor's office saying that, as part of the investigations conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department of the Istanbul Security Directorate, information was obtained indicating that the organization is planning to carry out attacks targeting non-Muslims during the New Year's celebrations.
The statement indicated that simultaneous raids were conducted at 124 locations across Istanbul, and during the searches, pistols, ammunition, and numerous organizational documents were seized. It clarified that the operations resulted in the arrest of 115 suspects, and efforts are still ongoing to apprehend other suspects.
Turkish media reported that the public prosecutor issued an order to arrest 137 individuals, of whom 115 have been detained.
Last week, Turkish intelligence announced the arrest of a Turkish individual between Afghanistan and Pakistan, suspected of being a leader in the terrorist organization and planning attacks in the region and even in Europe. It was noted that the suspect, Muhammad Goren, is preparing for suicide attacks targeting civilians in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, and Europe.
