في خطوة وصفها محللون بأنها تاريخية ومفاجئة، أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب توقيع تسع اتفاقيات ضخمة مع أكبر شركات الأدوية في العالم لتخفيض أسعار الأدوية في الولايات المتحدة بشكل غير مسبوق.
وشملت الاتفاقيات شركات عملاقة مثلAmgen ،Bristol Myers Squibb ، Boehringer Ingelheim ،Genentech ،Gilead Sciences ،GSK ، Merck ،Novartis، وSanofi، لتغطي أدوية لعلاج أمراض مزمنة ومكلفة مثل: السكري، والروماتويد، والتصلب المتعدد، والربو، وأمراض الكبد، والإيدز، وأنواع معينة من السرطان.
لكن القصة لا تتوقف عند مجرد التخفيضات، فالقطاع الطبي عانى لعقود من استغلال شركات الأدوية للمرضى، حيث كانت ترفع أسعار الأدوية بشكل جنوني، أحيانًا بأضعاف سعرها دون أي عقوبات أو قيود. لكن ترمب دخل على الخط ليوقف هذا العبث ويضع الأمريكيين أولاً، كما وعد.
وجاءت النتيجة على هيئة تخفيضات مذهلة عند الشراء عبر TrumpRx، ومنها:

ولم يكتف ترمب بهذه التخفيضات، بل ألزم الشركات بإعادة الأرباح الضخمة التي جنتها في الخارج إلى الداخل الأمريكي، وتعزيز الإنتاج المحلي لتأمين أمن دوائي استراتيجي، وتقليل الاعتماد على الأسواق الأجنبية في أزمات مستقبلية. كما ستقوم الشركات بتوريد مكونات دوائية أساسية للمخزون الاستراتيجي الأمريكي لضمان توافر الأدوية في الطوارئ.
وفي خطاب وصفه المراقبون بـ«الصادم»، أكد ترمب أن هذه الاتفاقيات تمنع شركات الأدوية من استغلال المرضى الأمريكيين، وتضع الأمريكيين في مقدمة الأولويات، بعد عقود من السياسات التي أغرقت المرضى في فواتير باهظة لأدوية حيوية.
وما يجعل هذه الخطوة أكثر إثارة: أن شركات الأدوية كانت طوال سنوات ماضية ترفع أسعار أدوية محددة بشكل متكرر، لتستفيد من ضعف التنظيمات وغياب الرقابة على الأسعار، بينما يتلقى المرضى نفس الدواء بسعر منخفض في كندا أو ألمانيا أو اليابان. إلى أن جاء ترمب بهذا القرار ليكسر هذا النظام، ويوجه ضربة مباشرة لشركات الأدوية التي اعتادت المراوغة والاحتكار.
وستوفر الصفقات الجديدة مليارات الدولارات لبرنامج Medicaid في الولايات المتحدة، كما ستمكّن ملايين الأمريكيين من شراء أدوية حياتية بأسعار لم يحلموا بها منذ عقود.
ترمب الذي بدأ مسيرته في هذه القضية بإصدار أمر تنفيذي في مايو 2025، تابع تنفيذ وعوده بإصرار، وأعلن هذه الصفقات بعد متابعة دقيقة مع الوكالة الأمريكية للتجارة ووزارة الصحة والخدمات الإنسانية، مؤكداً أن المواطن الأمريكي لن يدفع بعد الآن الفاتورة الكاملة لتغطية فرق الأسعار في بقية دول العالم.
ويترقب الملايين من الأمريكيين الآن تطبيق هذه الاتفاقيات، والتي قد تغير مفهوم الوصول إلى الأدوية تماماً، وتعيد التوازن لقطاع لطالما استغل المرضى وجعلهم رهائن للأسعار.
In a move described by analysts as historic and surprising, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the signing of nine massive agreements with the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world to reduce drug prices in the United States in an unprecedented manner.
The agreements included giant companies such as Amgen, Bristol Myers Squibb, Boehringer Ingelheim, Genentech, Gilead Sciences, GSK, Merck, Novartis, and Sanofi, covering medications for treating chronic and costly diseases such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, asthma, liver diseases, AIDS, and certain types of cancer.
But the story does not stop at mere reductions; the medical sector has suffered for decades from the exploitation of patients by pharmaceutical companies, which raised drug prices outrageously, sometimes by multiples of their original price without any penalties or restrictions. However, Trump stepped in to put an end to this nonsense and put Americans first, as he promised.
The result came in the form of astonishing discounts when purchasing through TrumpRx, including:
- Repatha for lowering cholesterol: from $573 to $239
- Reyataz for treating HIV: from $1,449 to $217
- Jentadeuto for diabetes: from $525 to $55
- Xofluza for influenza: from $168 to $50
- Epclusa for hepatitis C: from $24,920 to $2,425
- Plavix for blood thinning: from $756 to $16
Trump did not stop at these reductions; he mandated companies to repatriate the massive profits they earned abroad back to the U.S., enhance domestic production to ensure strategic pharmaceutical security, and reduce reliance on foreign markets in future crises. Companies will also supply essential pharmaceutical components for the U.S. strategic stockpile to ensure drug availability in emergencies.
In a speech described by observers as "shocking," Trump confirmed that these agreements prevent pharmaceutical companies from exploiting American patients and place Americans at the forefront of priorities, after decades of policies that drowned patients in exorbitant bills for vital medications.
What makes this step even more exciting is that pharmaceutical companies had been repeatedly raising the prices of specific drugs for years, taking advantage of weak regulations and the absence of price controls, while patients received the same medication at a lower price in Canada, Germany, or Japan. Until Trump came with this decision to break this system and deliver a direct blow to the pharmaceutical companies that had grown accustomed to evasion and monopoly.
The new deals will save billions of dollars for the Medicaid program in the United States and enable millions of Americans to purchase life-saving medications at prices they haven't dreamed of for decades.
Trump, who began his journey on this issue by issuing an executive order in May 2025, continued to fulfill his promises with determination and announced these deals after careful monitoring with the U.S. Trade Agency and the Department of Health and Human Services, confirming that the American citizen will no longer pay the full bill to cover the price differences in other countries.
Millions of Americans are now awaiting the implementation of these agreements, which could completely change the concept of access to medications and restore balance to a sector that has long exploited patients and held them hostage to prices.
