أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، في مقابلة هاتفية حصرية مع شبكة "إن بي سي نيوز" نشرت، اليوم (الجمعة)، أنه لا يستبعد إمكانية نشوب حرب مع فنزويلا، مؤكداً أن هذا الخيار لا يزال مطروحاً على الطاولة.
ورداً على سؤال مباشر حول ما إذا كان يستبعد اندلاع حرب، قال ترامب: "لا، لا أستبعده".
مصادرة ناقلات نقط فنزويلية
كما أشار ترمب في المقابلة نفسها إلى أن الولايات المتحدة ستستمر في مصادرة ناقلات النفط بالقرب من المياه الفنزويلية، في إطار تصعيد الضغوط على حكومة الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو.
حصار أمريكي كامل
يأتي هذا التصريح بعد أيام قليلة من إعلان ترمب، يوم الثلاثاء الماضي، فرض "حصار" كامل على جميع ناقلات النفط المفروضة عليها عقوبات والتي تدخل أو تخرج من فنزويلا. ويهدف هذا الإجراء إلى استهداف المصدر الرئيسي لدخل الحكومة الفنزويلية، في خطوة جديدة لزيادة الضغط على نظام مادورو.
توتر العلاقات بين أمريكا وفنزويلا
وتشهد العلاقات بين واشنطن وكراكاس توتراً متزايداً في الآونة الأخيرة، مع تصعيد الإجراءات الأمريكية التي تشمل ضربات عسكرية على قوارب مشتبه بها ومصادرة ناقلات نفط.

Trump also indicated in the same interview that the United States will continue to seize oil tankers near Venezuelan waters as part of escalating pressure on President Nicolás Maduro's government.

This statement comes just days after Trump announced last Tuesday the imposition of a "complete blockade" on all oil tankers under sanctions entering or leaving Venezuela. This measure aims to target the main source of income for the Venezuelan government, in a new step to increase pressure on Maduro's regime.

Relations between Washington and Caracas have been increasingly tense recently, with escalating U.S. actions that include military strikes on suspected boats and the seizure of oil tankers.
