أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، في تصريحات صحفية أدلى بها، أن الرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي «صديق له»، معرباً عن سعادته بلقائه إذا ما قرر زيارة الولايات المتحدة.
جاءت هذه التصريحات رداً على سؤال من الصحفيين حول ما إذا كان السيسي يعتزم زيارة أمريكا، خاصة في سياق الزيارة المتوقعة لرئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو إلى فلوريدا.
وقال ترمب: «السيسي صديق لي، وسأكون سعيداً بلقائه أيضاً»، مضيفاً أنه يرحب باستضافة الرئيس المصري في البيت الأبيض أو في منتجعه بفلوريدا، في إشارة إلى إمكانية عقد لقاء ثلاثي مع نتنياهو.
وأوضح ترمب أنه لم يتم تحديد موعد رسمي بعد، لكنه أعرب عن رغبة قوية في تعزيز التعاون مع القاهرة، التي تعتبر ثاني أكبر متلقٍ للمساعدات العسكرية الأمريكية (حوالى 1.3 مليار دولار سنوياً).
وأوضح ترمب، في تصريحات للصحفيين من المكتب البيضاوي، رداً على سؤال حول احتمال عقد لقاء مع نتنياهو في منتجع «مارالاغو» في بالم بيتش لاحقاً هذا الشهر، قائلًا: «لم نقم بترتيبه رسمياً، لكنه يرغب في رؤيتي»، مضيفاً: «من المرجح أن يأتي لرؤيتي في فلوريدا».
يأتي هذا التصريح في وقت تشهد فيه العلاقات الأمريكية-المصرية دفئاً ملحوظاً، خاصة بعد الدور البارز الذي لعبته مصر في التوسط لوقف إطلاق النار في غزة، والذي توج بقمة شرم الشيخ في أكتوبر 2025 التي شارك في رئاستها ترمب والسيسي.
وتتميز العلاقات بين الرئيسين ترمب والسيسي بقوة وثيقة منذ فترة ترمب الأولى (2017-2021)، حيث التقيا عدة مرات، وأشاد ترمب بالسيسي مراراً، واصفاً إياه بـ«القائد القوي» و«صديقي».
وفي فترته الثانية، عزز التعاون الثنائي بعد نجاح جهود مشتركة في وقف الحرب في غزة، حيث أشاد ترمب بدور مصر كوسيط رئيسي.
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed in press statements that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is "a friend of mine," expressing his happiness at the prospect of meeting him if he decides to visit the United States.
These statements came in response to a question from reporters about whether Sisi intends to visit America, especially in the context of the expected visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Florida.
Trump said, "Sisi is a friend of mine, and I would be happy to meet him as well," adding that he welcomes hosting the Egyptian president at the White House or at his resort in Florida, indicating the possibility of holding a trilateral meeting with Netanyahu.
Trump clarified that no official date has been set yet, but he expressed a strong desire to enhance cooperation with Cairo, which is considered the second-largest recipient of U.S. military aid (approximately $1.3 billion annually).
In statements to reporters from the Oval Office, responding to a question about the possibility of a meeting with Netanyahu at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach later this month, he said, "We haven't arranged it officially, but he wants to see me," adding, "It's likely that he will come to see me in Florida."
This statement comes at a time when U.S.-Egyptian relations are experiencing a noticeable warmth, especially after the prominent role Egypt played in mediating a ceasefire in Gaza, culminating in the Sharm El-Sheikh summit in October 2025, co-chaired by Trump and Sisi.
The relationship between Presidents Trump and Sisi has been notably strong since Trump's first term (2017-2021), during which they met several times, and Trump repeatedly praised Sisi, describing him as a "strong leader" and "my friend."
In his second term, he strengthened bilateral cooperation following successful joint efforts to halt the war in Gaza, where Trump commended Egypt's role as a key mediator.
