أعلنت القوات الروسية السيطرة على كوبيانسك المدينة الإستراتيجية في شمال شرق أوكرانيا، بعد ما كان الجيش الأوكراني استعاد عدة أحياء منها.
ونقلت وكالة «تاس» الرسمية الروسية، اليوم الثلاثاء، عن المتحدثة باسم المجموعة العسكرية الروسية «زاباد» المنتشرة في المنطقة تأكيدها أن «مدينة كوبيانسك تحت سيطرة الجيش الروسي الخامس».
وكانت روسيا أعلنت في نوفمبر السيطرة على كوبيانسك، قبل أن تؤكد أوكرانيا استعادة أحياء منها.
ونشر الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي، الجمعة الماضي، مقطع فيديو من ضواحي مدينة كوبيانسك، رافضا ادعاءات موسكو بأن القوات الروسية قد استولت على المدينة الواقعة في شرقي أوكرانيا.
وقال زيلينسكي في مقطع الفيديو، الذي ظهر فيه مرتديا سترة واقية، وإن كان بدون خوذة، أمام علامة الحدود المدمرة التي تحدد مدخل المدينة: «تحدث الروس كثيرا عن (الاستيلاء على) كوبيانسك، ويمكننا أن نرى كيف هي الأمور بالفعل».
وأضاف: «من المهم للغاية تحقيق نتائج على الجبهة حتى تتمكن أوكرانيا من إحراز نتائج على الصعيد الدبلوماسي»، معربا عن شكره لجنود الجيش على جهودهم حتى الآن.
وأعلن الكرملين منذ نحو ثلاثة أسابيع استيلاء القوات الروسية على مدينة كوبيانسك في منطقة خاركيف، وهو ادعاء نفته كييف.
وظلت مدينة كوبيانسك تحت السيطرة الروسية لنحو 7 أشهر بعد الحرب في فبراير 2022، قبل أن تستعيدها القوات الأوكرانية.
من جانبه، أعلن الجيش الأوكراني، اليوم، ارتفاع عدد قتلى وجرحى العسكريين الروس منذ بداية الحرب على الأراضي الأوكرانية في 24 فبراير 2022، إلى نحو مليون و190 ألفا و620 فرداً، من بينهم 1150 قتلوا أو أصيبوا خلال الساعات الـ24 الماضية، وفق بيان نشرته هيئة الأركان العامة للقوات المسلحة الأوكرانية، في صفحتها على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي «فيسبوك».
The Russian forces announced the control of the strategic city of Kupiansk in northeastern Ukraine, after the Ukrainian army had regained several neighborhoods within it.
The official Russian news agency "TASS" reported today, Tuesday, that the spokesperson for the Russian military group "Zapad" deployed in the region confirmed that "the city of Kupiansk is under the control of the fifth Russian army."
Russia had announced in November the control of Kupiansk, before Ukraine confirmed the recovery of neighborhoods within it.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky posted a video last Friday from the outskirts of Kupiansk, rejecting Moscow's claims that Russian forces had seized the city located in eastern Ukraine.
Zelensky said in the video, in which he appeared wearing a bulletproof vest, though without a helmet, in front of the destroyed border sign marking the entrance to the city: "The Russians talk a lot about (the seizure of) Kupiansk, and we can see how things really are."
He added: "It is extremely important to achieve results on the front so that Ukraine can achieve results on the diplomatic front," expressing his gratitude to the soldiers for their efforts so far.
The Kremlin announced about three weeks ago the seizure of the city of Kupiansk by Russian forces in the Kharkiv region, a claim that Kyiv denied.
Kupiansk remained under Russian control for about 7 months after the war began in February 2022, before being regained by Ukrainian forces.
For its part, the Ukrainian army announced today that the number of Russian military casualties since the beginning of the war on Ukrainian territory on February 24, 2022, has risen to about 1,190,620 individuals, including 1,150 killed or wounded in the last 24 hours, according to a statement published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on its Facebook page.
