غيّب الموت اليوم (الخميس)، عضو مؤسسة عكاظ للصحافة والنشر الكاتب والصحفي الرياضي السابق علي محمد الرابغي، وصلي عليه بجامع القريقري، ودفن في مقبرة الصالحية بجدة.
«أبو مروان» رحل بعد تجربة رائدة لأكثر من ثمانية عقود، بدأت بعشق مبكرٍ للاطلاع والقراءة، ثم الكتابة الصحفية والنشر، تلتها تجربة إذاعية ثريّة، ثم تلفزيونية، واستمرت مع العمود الصحفي في «عكاظ» ويعد ذاكرة حيّة نابضة بالحُبّ والخير والجمال، وسيرته العطرة نالت ثقة رجالات دولة، وإعجاب مثقفين وإعلاميين.
ولادته في رابغ
ولد الراحل في حارة أمير رابغ عام 1939، وبدأ دراسته في رابغ، ثم انتقل لجدة بحكم عمل والده في الثكنة العسكرية بجدة (القشلة)، وأكمل دراسته في مدرسة الوزيرية في حي الكندرة بجدة، ثم المدرسة المنصورية في العلوي. قبل أن يكمل دراسته في جامعة الملك سعود.
سيرة عطرة نالت ثقة رجالات الدولة
عمل الرابغي مديراً للنشاط الرياضي بإدارة التعليم بجدة، ومشرفاً على الصفحة الرياضية بجريدة البلاد في الستينيات، ثم رئيساً للقسم الرياضي بصحيفة «عكاظ»، وأخيراً مشرفاً على القسم الرياضي بصحيفة الشرق الأوسط. وكان مثالاً للخلق الحسن والمهنية الصحفية.
اهتماماته الثقافية المبكرة
اهتم الرابغي بالثقافة في وقت مبكر، وقال في حوار سابق مع «عكاظ»: «كنت أتابع مكتبة الثقافة لصاحبها عبدالرزاق كمال، ومكتبة الثقافة في مكة لصالح وأحمد محمد جمال؛ خصوصاً أنهم يقدمون عرضاً كل صيف على الكتب، يقررون يوماً للثقافة، فيبيعون أي كتاب بريال واحد، فنوفّر ما نشتري به كتب يوسف السباعي، ونجيب محفوظ، وتوفيق الحكيم، وأنيس منصور، وغيرهم من الكتاب».
تجربته الإذاعية
عمل الرابغي مراسلاً للإذاعة من رابغ، وعين مساعد مذيع، وكانت لديه ستة برامج بين الإذاعة والتلفزيون، وارتبط صوته بوجدان المستمعين من خلال العديد من البرامج الإذاعية المميزة.
أسرة الراحل
الفقيد شقيق كل من: الدكتور عبدالعزيز، وعبداللطيف، وعبدالرحمن، وعبدالله، ووالد مروان الرابغي.
ويتقبل العزاء بمنزل الفقيد بحي الفيصلية في جدة.

Today (Thursday), death has taken away Ali Mohammed Al-Rabghi, a member of the Okaz Foundation for Press and Publishing, a former writer and sports journalist. He was prayed for at Al-Quraigri Mosque and buried in Al-Salihiya Cemetery in Jeddah.
“Abu Marwan” passed away after a pioneering journey of more than eight decades, which began with an early passion for reading and literature, followed by journalistic writing and publishing, then a rich radio experience, and later television. His journey continued with a newspaper column in “Okaz,” making him a vibrant living memory filled with love, goodness, and beauty. His fragrant biography earned the trust of state officials and the admiration of intellectuals and media professionals.
His Birth in Rabigh
The late writer was born in the neighborhood of Amir Rabigh in 1939 and began his studies in Rabigh. He then moved to Jeddah due to his father's work at the military barracks in Jeddah (Al-Qashlah) and completed his education at Al-Waziriyah School in the Al-Kandarah neighborhood of Jeddah, followed by Al-Mansouriyah School in Al-Alawi, before finishing his studies at King Saud University.
A Fragrant Biography That Earned the Trust of State Officials
Al-Rabghi served as the Director of Sports Activities at the Education Administration in Jeddah, a supervisor of the sports page at Al-Bilad newspaper in the 1960s, then as the head of the sports section at “Okaz” newspaper, and finally as a supervisor of the sports section at Al-Middle East newspaper. He was an example of good character and journalistic professionalism.
His Early Cultural Interests
Al-Rabghi was interested in culture from an early age. In a previous interview with “Okaz,” he said: “I used to follow the Culture Library owned by Abdulrazak Kamal and the Culture Library in Mecca owned by Saleh and Ahmed Mohammed Jamal, especially since they offered a summer promotion on books, designating a day for culture where they sold any book for one riyal. We would save up to buy books by Yusuf Al-Sebai, Naguib Mahfouz, Tawfiq Al-Hakim, Anis Mansour, and other authors.”
His Radio Experience
Al-Rabghi worked as a radio correspondent from Rabigh and was appointed as an assistant announcer. He had six programs between radio and television, and his voice became associated with the hearts of listeners through many distinctive radio programs.
The Late Writer's Family
The deceased is the brother of Dr. Abdulaziz, Abdulatif, Abdulrahman, and Abdullah, and the father of Marwan Al-Rabghi.
Condolences are being received at the deceased's home in Al-Faisaliah neighborhood in Jeddah.
