The colleague Saud Al-Otaibi from the Riyadh newspaper passed away to the mercy of Allah this morning (Sunday). His funeral prayer will be held this afternoon at Al-Muhaini Mosque, and his body will be buried in the Northern Cemetery in Riyadh.
The pen was his companion and truth was his guide
The deceased defined himself with a poignant phrase: "I am someone who wasted his life in media," but in reality, it is a testament of love and dedication to a profession he devoted his life to. The pen was his companion, truth was his guide, and the search for truth was his mission. He wrote for Al-Yamamah magazine and Riyadh newspaper, leaving behind pages that pulse with wisdom and writings that illuminate minds.
Media was not his only world; literature and poetry were the nourishment of his soul and the secret of his brilliance. He memorized the gems of poetry and recited them in his gatherings with the sweetness of his tongue and the brilliance of his expression, delighting and comforting his companions, opening windows to beauty and knowledge for them. His love for Al-Hilal Club was an example of a loyal lover; he saw it as a gateway to joy, a breath of fresh air for the spirit, and a solace amidst the hustle of life.
The media community also mourned the deceased in tweets through their accounts on the "X" platform.
"Okaz," which was saddened by the news, extends its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased, asking Allah to envelop him in His vast mercy and grant him a place in His spacious gardens. Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.
