أكد مصدر في الخارجية الروسية أن موسكو لم ولن تتراجع عن التفاهمات التي توصل إليها الرئيسان الروسي فلاديمير بوتين والأمريكي دونالد ترمب في ألاسكا.
ورداً على تقارير بإلغاء واشنطن قمة بودابست، بعد مطالب موسكو «المتشددة بشأن أوكرانيا»، نقلت صحيفة «كوميرسانت» عن المصدر قوله: «الولايات المتحدة هي التي تنجرف في اتجاه متعرج، وتقترب أكثر فأكثر من مواقف الاتحاد الأوروبي وأوكرانيا».
وكانت صحيفة «فاينانشال تايمز» ذكرت أن الولايات المتحدة ألغت القمة بسبب مذكرة جاءت فيها مطالب «متشددة بشأن أوكرانيا» من قبل روسيا. وأفادت بأن المذكرة أعقبتها مكالمة متوترة بين وزيري الخارجية الروسي سيرغي لافروف ونظيره الأمريكي ماركو روبيو.
ووفقاً لمصدر مطلع على المحادثة، أبلغ روبيو ترمب بأن موسكو لم تبد «أي استعداد للتفاوض». ونقلت الصحيفة عن مصدر آخر قوله إن ترمب «لم يعجب بموقفهم».
ووفق المصدر الروسي «لم تكن هذه مذكرة، بل وثيقة غير رسمية تستخدم في الدبلوماسية لتبادل المقترحات وتحديد المواقف».
وأضاف أنه تم إرسال الوثيقة من الجانب الروسي إلى واشنطن قبل أيام قليلة من المكالمة الهاتفية التي جرت في 16 أكتوبر بين الرئيسين، وليس بعد أيام قليلة منها، كما زعم تقرير «فاينانشال تايمز».
وكشف أنه «خلال هذه المكالمة الهاتفية، اتفق الرئيسان على الاجتماع في بودابست، وبحلول موعد المحادثة الهاتفية، كانت الوثيقة الروسية قد وصلت بالفعل إلى الجانب الأمريكي، وبالتالي، لم يكن من الممكن أن تعرقل لقاء بودابست».
ولفت المصدر إلى أن «مضمون هذه الوثيقة يعكس التفاهمات التي توصل إليها الرئيسان في ألاسكا، وليس أي تشدد في الموقف الروسي».
وكان المتحدث باسم الكرملين دميتري بيسكوف دعا إلى التركيز على البيانات الرسمية بدلاً من وسائل الإعلام الأجنبية عند مناقشة العلاقات الروسية الأمريكية.
A source in the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Moscow has not and will not back down from the agreements reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and American President Donald Trump in Alaska.
In response to reports of Washington canceling the Budapest summit, following Moscow's "hardline demands regarding Ukraine," the newspaper "Kommersant" quoted the source as saying: "The United States is the one drifting in a winding direction, getting closer and closer to the positions of the European Union and Ukraine."
The "Financial Times" reported that the United States canceled the summit due to a memo containing "hardline demands regarding Ukraine" from Russia. It stated that the memo was followed by a tense phone call between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his American counterpart Marco Rubio.
According to a source familiar with the conversation, Rubio informed Trump that Moscow had shown "no willingness to negotiate." The newspaper quoted another source saying that Trump "was not pleased with their stance."
According to the Russian source, "This was not a memo, but an unofficial document used in diplomacy to exchange proposals and clarify positions."
He added that the document was sent from the Russian side to Washington a few days before the phone call that took place on October 16 between the two presidents, and not a few days after it, as claimed by the "Financial Times" report.
He revealed that "during this phone call, the two presidents agreed to meet in Budapest, and by the time of the phone conversation, the Russian document had already reached the American side, and thus, it could not have obstructed the Budapest meeting."
The source pointed out that "the content of this document reflects the agreements reached by the two presidents in Alaska, and not any hardening of the Russian position."
The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called for focusing on official statements rather than foreign media when discussing Russian-American relations.
