كذّبت مصادر رسمية سورية، صحة التقرير الذي أوردته وسائل إعلام غربية بشأن أمر الرئيس أحمد الشرع بإغلاق مكتب شقيقه جمال الشرع، وتوبيخ عدد من المسؤولين بسبب مظاهر الثراء والسيارات الفارهة خلال لقاء جرى في محافظة إدلب أواخر شهر أغسطس الماضي.
ونفى جمال الشرع، شقيق الرئيس السوري في بيان أمس، وجود مكتب أعمال له في العاصمة دمشق، أو حصول لقاءات مع رجال أعمال ومسؤولين، مؤكداً أنها مجرد «افتراءات وتشويه للحقائق».
فيما أكد مدير الشؤون السياسية في ريف دمشق أحمد محمد ديب طعمة، أن ما جاء في التقرير المذكور تضمن «معلومات مغلوطة». وأوضح في منشور على إكس مساء الجمعة، أن الرئيس الشرع لم يتطرق إلى هذا الجانب الذي يتعلق بالسيارات الفارهة في الخارج. وقال «حضرت الاجتماع كاملاً ولم أسمع بهذه الرواية».
وأفاد وزير الاتصالات السابق حسين المصري، الذي حضر الجلسة أيضاً بأن كل ما ورد حول اللقاء «كلام بعيد عن الصحة»، موضحاً في منشور على حسابه في فيسبوك «أن الجلسة كانت مطولة وإيجابية، وتضمنت وصايا وتوجيهات عامة حول الواقع السوري».
وقال إن اللقاء تضمن «توجيهات بعدم مزاحمة المستثمرين، وتشكيل لجنة لمتابعة هذا الموضوع وجرد أملاك وأموال المسؤولين».
وكانت وزارة الإعلام السورية، وصفت اللقاء الذي جرى في إدلب بأنه كان «وديّاً وغير رسمي»، وذكرت أنه تناول التحديات السياسية والأمنية وضرورة تغيير ثقافة الاستثمار التي أرساها النظام السابق.
وكانت وسائل إعلام غربية تحدثت أن الرئيس الشرع وبخ عدداً من المسؤولين خلال اللقاء، الذي عقد في إدلب يوم 30 من أغسطس الماضي، بحضور مسؤولين أمنيين رفيعي المستوى.
ونقلت عن شهود عيان حضروا اللقاء، أن الشرع أمر الموظفين المدنيين الذين يملكون سيارات فارهة بتسليم مفاتيحها فوراً أو مواجهة تحقيق في مكاسب غير مشروعة، بحسب قولها.
Syrian official sources have denied the accuracy of a report published by Western media regarding President Ahmad al-Shara's order to close the office of his brother, Jamal al-Shara, and reprimanding several officials due to signs of wealth and luxury cars during a meeting held in Idlib province at the end of August.
Jamal al-Shara, the brother of the Syrian president, denied in a statement yesterday the existence of a business office for him in the capital, Damascus, or any meetings with businessmen and officials, asserting that these are merely "fabrications and distortions of the facts."
Meanwhile, Ahmad Muhammad Dib Tuma, the director of political affairs in rural Damascus, confirmed that the report contained "incorrect information." He clarified in a post on X on Friday evening that President al-Shara did not address the aspect related to luxury cars abroad. He said, "I attended the entire meeting and did not hear this narrative."
Former Minister of Communications Hussein al-Masri, who also attended the session, stated that everything mentioned about the meeting is "far from the truth," explaining in a post on his Facebook account that "the session was lengthy and positive, and included general recommendations and directives regarding the Syrian reality."
He noted that the meeting included "directives not to compete with investors and the formation of a committee to follow up on this issue and inventory the properties and funds of officials."
The Syrian Ministry of Information described the meeting that took place in Idlib as "friendly and unofficial," stating that it addressed political and security challenges and the necessity of changing the investment culture established by the previous regime.
Western media reported that President al-Shara reprimanded several officials during the meeting held in Idlib on August 30, in the presence of high-ranking security officials.
They quoted eyewitnesses who attended the meeting, stating that al-Shara ordered civilian employees who own luxury cars to hand over their keys immediately or face an investigation into illicit gains, according to their claims.
