وصف مسؤول في حكومة دارفور الوضع في الفاشر بأنه «كارثي»، مؤكداً أن الإعدامات الجماعية لا تزال مستمرة. وأعلن المصدر أن مصير عشرات الآلاف من المدنيين في عاصمة ولاية شمال دارفور لا يزال مجهولاً.
وأكد شهود عيان استمرار النزوح من مدينة بارا إلى الأبيض في شمال كردفان، فيما أفادت مصادر عسكرية بأن الجيش السوداني استهدف مواقع للدعم السريع في غرب كردفان.
وقال شهود ومسعفون إن مقاتلين من قوات الدعم السريع جمعوا عشرات الرجال قرب مدينة الفاشر وأطلقوا النار عليهم بعد اقتيادهم إلى خزان مياه، ونجا أحدهم بعد أن تعرف عليه أحد المسلحين وسمح له بالفرار.
وأكد الشهود أن قوات الدعم السريع فصلت الرجال عن النساء في القرى المحيطة واقتادتهم إلى أماكن مجهولة، وسط مخاوف من إعدامات جماعية بدوافع عرقية.
من جانبها، وصفت الحكومة البريطانية التقارير الواردة من دارفور بأنها «مرعبة» مع ارتكاب فظائع وإعدامات جماعية. ودعت وزيرة خارجية بريطانيا إيفيت كوبر، اليوم (السبت)، إلى وقف فوري لإطلاق النار في الحرب في السودان، واصفة الوضع بالقاتم والمرعب، بعد سيطرة قوات الدعم السريع على آخر مدينة رئيسية في إقليم دارفور.
بدورها، دعت منظمة «أطباء بلا حدود» المجتمع الدولي إلى التدخل لوقف حمام الدم في الفاشر، مؤكدة أن قوات الدعم السريع وحلفاءها يمنعون المدنيين في الفاشر من الخروج. وأكدت «أطباء بلا حدود» أن أعداداً كبيرة من المدنيين في الفاشر لا يزالون في خطر داهم.
A government official in Darfur described the situation in El Fasher as "catastrophic," confirming that mass executions are still ongoing. The source announced that the fate of tens of thousands of civilians in the capital of North Darfur remains unknown.
Eyewitnesses confirmed the continued displacement from the city of Bara to Al-Obeid in North Kordofan, while military sources reported that the Sudanese army targeted Rapid Support Forces positions in West Kordofan.
Witnesses and paramedics stated that fighters from the Rapid Support Forces gathered dozens of men near the city of El Fasher and opened fire on them after leading them to a water reservoir. One of them survived after being recognized by one of the armed men, who allowed him to escape.
Witnesses confirmed that the Rapid Support Forces separated men from women in the surrounding villages and took them to unknown locations, amid fears of mass executions driven by ethnic motives.
For its part, the British government described the reports coming from Darfur as "horrific," with atrocities and mass executions being committed. British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper called today (Saturday) for an immediate ceasefire in the war in Sudan, describing the situation as grim and terrifying after the Rapid Support Forces took control of the last major city in the Darfur region.
For its part, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) urged the international community to intervene to stop the bloodbath in El Fasher, emphasizing that the Rapid Support Forces and their allies are preventing civilians in El Fasher from leaving. Médecins Sans Frontières confirmed that a large number of civilians in El Fasher remain in imminent danger.
