كشف الجيش الفرنسي، اليوم (الإثنين)، عن مشاركته في تدريبات غرينلاند، الإقليم الدنماركي الذي يطمع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بالسيطرة عليه.
وقال المتحدث باسم الجيش الفرنسي الكولونيل، غيّوم فيرني، إن قوات فرنسية إضافية ستتوجه إلى غرينلاند، وفقاً للسيناريوهات وتطور الحاجات على الأرض، مبيناً أن قوات فرنسية، برية وبحرية وجوية، تشارك في التدريبات بطلب من الدنماركيين.
وكان الجيش الدنماركي، قد قال إن قواته تعزز وجودها في غرينلاند وشمال الأطلسي، وتجري تدريبات بالتعاون مع دول حليفة.
وقالت القيادة الدنماركية للقطب الشمالي، للمرة الأولى، انتشر متخصصون ينتمون إلى وحدة النخبة في القوات الخاصة التابعة للجيش الدنماركي في التضاريس الأكثر وعورة في غرينلاند، على ساحل بلوسفيل، موضحة أن الهدف من هذا الانتشار هو تعزيز الوجود في القطب الشمالي.
من جهتها، أفادت قناة «دي آر» الدنماركية بأن الفرقاطة الدنماركية بيتر ويليمس انضمت إلى تدريبات دنماركية يشارك فيها عسكريون من دول أوروبية مختلفة، بدأت بوقت سابق من يناير في غرينلاند.
وتجري الفرقاطة الفرنسية «لا بروتاني» مناورات مشتركة مع السفينة الدنماركية «تيتيس» في شمال المحيط الأطلسي، حسب قيادة القطب الشمالي.

French army spokesperson Colonel Guillaume Verny stated that additional French forces will be deployed to Greenland, depending on scenarios and the evolving needs on the ground, noting that French land, naval, and air forces are participating in the exercises at the request of the Danes.
The Danish army had previously stated that its forces are strengthening their presence in Greenland and the North Atlantic, conducting exercises in cooperation with allied countries.
For the first time, the Danish Arctic Command reported that specialists from the elite special forces unit of the Danish army have been deployed in the most rugged terrain of Greenland, on the coast of Blosville, explaining that the aim of this deployment is to enhance presence in the Arctic.
For its part, the Danish channel "DR" reported that the Danish frigate Peter Willems has joined Danish exercises involving military personnel from various European countries, which began earlier in January in Greenland.
The French frigate "La Bretagne" is conducting joint maneuvers with the Danish ship "Tethys" in the North Atlantic, according to the Arctic Command.
