Global media outlets have highlighted the immense destruction left by Israel's war on the Gaza Strip and the deterioration of the humanitarian conditions for Palestinian prisoners in occupation jails, and they spoke about the catastrophic tragedy in Sudan.

Shujaiya is Not on the Map

In a report from inside the devastated sector, the "Telegraph" described the Shujaiya neighborhood in the northern part of the strip as having turned into a ghost town, as nothing remains standing except for the trees.

The newspaper, which entered Gaza for the first time, confirmed that Israel destroyed all the buildings that were located west of Shujaiya, and that the neighborhood has completely been erased from the map.

It quoted an Israeli military official as saying that some bodies of prisoners are believed to be in this location. It also quoted Hamas as saying that some bodies are located in the vicinity of the neighborhood.

Insult, Beating, and Torture

Palestinian prisoners spoke to the "Financial Times" about the assaults and abuses they faced inside Israeli prisons, where their conditions have deteriorated since October 7, 2023.

It quoted one prisoner saying that their release "was not a true joy, as they were subjected to beating and humiliation until the last moment, and there was no humanity or mercy." It confirmed that the testimonies of those released "shed light on the suffering of the prisoners that has worsened since the beginning of the war, especially with the return of Itamar Ben Gvir to the responsibility of security, where health services, food quality, and bathing conditions have been affected."

Deal with Google and Amazon

The "Guardian" revealed that Google and Amazon agreed to exceptional conditions requested by the Israeli government to complete a massive cloud computing deal worth $1.2 billion in 2021.

It stated that the Israeli government requested the companies to send hidden signals to inform it when Israeli data is disclosed to courts or foreign investigators.

According to the newspaper, the two companies are committed in their cloud computing operations to the requests of police, prosecutors, and security agencies to hand over customer data to assist in investigations.

The Largest Humanitarian Crisis

Regarding the situation in Sudan, the Swiss newspaper "Le Temps" questioned the reason behind the international media's neglect of major humanitarian crises in Sudan, attributing it to budget cuts in newspapers and the difficulty of journalists reaching conflict areas.

It considered that the European priority now focuses on three main issues: the future of the United States, the Russian threat, and the tragedy of Gaza, as they directly affect Western security and democracy.

The newspaper confirmed that the tragedy in Sudan remains the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, where more than 3,000 civilians have been killed in the first half of this year, while hunger, cholera, and ethnic divisions threaten millions of residents.
