عُقد في العاصمة الرياض اجتماع ثلاثي ضمّ السعودية، وسورية، وجمهورية كوسوفو، جرى خلاله بحث سبل تعزيز العلاقات والتفاهم المشترك، بما في ذلك مسألة الاعتراف المتبادل وفتح آفاق التعاون الثنائي.
وفي هذا السياق، أعلنت الجمهورية العربية السورية اعترافها الرسمي بجمهورية كوسوفو دولةً مستقلة وذات سيادة، انطلاقاً من إيمانها بحق الشعوب في تقرير مصيرها وحرصها على تعزيز مبادئ السلام والاستقرار في منطقة البلقان والعالم.
وأكدت وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين السورية، أن هذا القرار يأتي في إطار السياسة السورية الهادفة إلى توسيع جسور التعاون والانفتاح مع مختلف دول العالم بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة ويعزز علاقات الصداقة بين الشعوب.
كما أعربت الجمهورية العربية السورية عن تقديرها العميق لجهود المملكة العربية السعودية ودورها البنّاء في تقريب وجهات النظر ودعم الحوار والتفاهم، الذي أسهم في تهيئة الظروف المناسبة لاتخاذ هذا القرار.
وتتطلع دمشق إلى إقامة علاقات دبلوماسية مع جمهورية كوسوفو في أقرب وقت ممكن، وتطوير التعاون الثنائي في المجالات السياسية والاقتصادية والثقافية، بما يحقق المصالح المشتركة للبلدين والشعبين الصديقين.
A trilateral meeting was held in the capital, Riyadh, which included Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the Republic of Kosovo. During this meeting, ways to enhance relations and mutual understanding were discussed, including the issue of mutual recognition and opening avenues for bilateral cooperation.
In this context, the Syrian Arab Republic announced its official recognition of the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state, based on its belief in the right of peoples to self-determination and its commitment to promoting the principles of peace and stability in the Balkans and the world.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates confirmed that this decision comes within the framework of Syrian policy aimed at expanding bridges of cooperation and openness with various countries around the world, serving common interests and enhancing friendship between peoples.
The Syrian Arab Republic also expressed its deep appreciation for the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its constructive role in bridging viewpoints and supporting dialogue and understanding, which contributed to creating the appropriate conditions for making this decision.
Damascus looks forward to establishing diplomatic relations with the Republic of Kosovo as soon as possible and developing bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, and cultural fields, in a way that achieves the common interests of both countries and their friendly peoples.
