في تصعيد جديد لسباق التسلح العالمي، أعلن الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين أن بلاده أجرت تجربة ناجحة للغواصة المسيرة النووية «بوسيدون»، واصفًا إياها بأنها سلاح لا يمكن اعتراضه، ولا مثيل له في أي جيش بالعالم.
وقال بوتين اليوم (الأربعاء) خلال حديثه من موسكو: «أجرينا بالأمس اختبارًا إضافيًا للمسيّرة البحرية بوسيدون.. ولا وسيلة لاعتراضها»، في إشارة إلى القدرات الخارقة التي تزعم روسيا امتلاكها في هذا النظام العسكري الجديد.
وتؤكد موسكو أن «بوسيدون» تعمل بالدفع النووي وقادرة على حمل رؤوس نووية ضخمة، ما يجعلها أداة ردع بحرية إستراتيجية يمكنها تغيير موازين القوى. وأضاف بوتين، أن السلاح «يتفوّق على كل الأجهزة في العالم من حيث السرعة والعمق الذي يعمل فيه».
ووفقًا لمصدر في المجمع الصناعي العسكري الروسي، قالت وكالة «تاس» إن الغواصة المسيرة عن بعد تستطيع العمل على أعماق تتجاوز كيلومترًا واحدًا وبسرعة تصل إلى 70 عقدة، دون أن تتمكن أنظمة الرصد العالمية من اكتشافها.
وتُخطط روسيا لاستخدام «بوسيدون» ضمن تسليح غواصة «بيلغورود» النووية التي دخلت الخدمة عام 2022، والمجهزة خصيصًا لإطلاق هذا النوع من الأسلحة.
ويأتي هذا الإعلان بعد أيام من تأكيد بوتين نجاح التجربة النهائية لصاروخ «بوريفيستنيك» النووي بعيد المدى، الذي وصفه بأنه «غير محدود المدى وقادر على تجاوز كل أنظمة الدفاع المعروفة».
وبينما يرى محللون أن هذه الاختبارات تحمل رسائل إستراتيجية واضحة للغرب، يؤكد آخرون أن موسكو تسعى لإثبات تفوقها في مجال الأسلحة النووية غير التقليدية وسط توترات عالمية متزايدة.
In a new escalation of the global arms race, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that his country conducted a successful test of the nuclear-powered unmanned submarine "Poseidon," describing it as an uncatchable weapon, unmatched by any army in the world.
Putin said today (Wednesday) during a speech from Moscow: "We conducted an additional test of the Poseidon unmanned underwater vehicle yesterday... there is no means to intercept it," referring to the extraordinary capabilities that Russia claims to possess in this new military system.
Moscow asserts that "Poseidon" operates on nuclear propulsion and is capable of carrying massive nuclear warheads, making it a strategic maritime deterrent that can alter the balance of power. Putin added that the weapon "surpasses all devices in the world in terms of speed and the depth at which it operates."
According to a source in the Russian military-industrial complex, the TASS news agency reported that the remotely operated submarine can operate at depths exceeding one kilometer and at speeds of up to 70 knots, without being detected by global monitoring systems.
Russia plans to use "Poseidon" as part of the armament of the "Belgorod" nuclear submarine, which entered service in 2022 and is specially equipped to launch this type of weapon.
This announcement comes days after Putin confirmed the success of the final test of the long-range nuclear missile "Burevestnik," which he described as "unlimited in range and capable of surpassing all known defense systems."
While analysts see these tests as carrying clear strategic messages to the West, others assert that Moscow seeks to demonstrate its superiority in the field of unconventional nuclear weapons amid increasing global tensions.
