أدى الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب رقصته الشهيرة على إيقاع أغنية «YMCA» لفرقة «فيليج بيبول» أمام آلاف الجنود والبحارة الأمريكيين على متن حاملة الطائرات النووية «يو إس إس جورج واشنطن»، المرساة في قاعدة يوكوسوكا البحرية قرب طوكيو.
وكانت زيارة الرئيس ترمب إلى حاملة الطائرات الأمريكية جزءاً من زيارة رسمية لترمب إلى اليابان، ضمن جولة أوسع في آسيا تهدف إلى تعزيز التحالفات الاقتصادية والأمنية في مواجهة التحديات الصينية المتزايدة.
ووصل ترمب إلى الحاملة جوّاً على متن مارين وان، مصحوباً برئيسة الوزراء اليابانية الجديدة ساناي تاكايتشي، التي تولت المنصب أخيراً كأول امرأة في تاريخ اليابان تشغل هذا المنصب، واستقبله آلاف البحارة والعسكريين الأمريكيين واليابانيين بتصفيق حار، مرتدين زي «الكاموفلاج»، داخل الحاملة التي تضم نحو 6,000 فرد.
وبدأ ترمب خطابه بمديح الجنود، قائلاً إنهم «يبدون رائعين جداً»، ووعد بزيادة رواتبهم، مشيراً إلى أن البحرية الأمريكية حققت أفضل أرقام تجنيد في «أجيال عديدة» هذا العام، كما أعلن عن مذكرة تفاهم بين وزير التجارة الأمريكي هوارد لوتنيك ورئيسة الوزراء اليابانية لتعزيز التعاون في صناعة بناء السفن، في خطوة تهدف إلى مواجهة الهيمنة الصينية في هذا المجال.

البحارة يرقصون مع ترمب
ومع انتهاء الخطاب، انطلقت موسيقى «YMCA» عبر مكبرات الصوت، فانفجر التصفيق، وانضم ترمب إلى الرقص بحماسه المعتاد، محركاً ذراعيه في حركات مميزة أصبحت علامة تجارية له منذ حملته الانتخابية، وانضم إليه بعض البحارة، بينما التقط الآخرون «سيلفي» معه، في مشهد وُصف بـ«المرح التلقائي» الذي يعكس أسلوب ترمب الشعبوي في التواصل مع الجنود.
وقالت تاكايتشي، التي رافقته على متن الحاملة، إنها «ممتنة للتحالف القوي بين البلدين»، مشيدة بترمب كـ«حليف في أعلى المستويات»، وسلّمته نادي غولف تذكارياً من الرئيس الياباني الراحل شينزو آبي.
يأتي هذا الحدث بعد أيام قليلة فقط من أداء ترمب رقصته نفسها في حفل الاستقبال الرسمي خلال وصوله إلى كوالالمبور، عاصمة ماليزيا، في المحطة الأولى من جولته الآسيوية، وهناك، انضم إلى فرقة رقص تقليدية ملونة تمثل المجموعات العرقية الرئيسية في ماليزيا -بمن في ذلك شعوب بورنيو الأصليين والمالاي والصينيين والهنديين- على إيقاع الطبول والموسيقى المحلية، بينما رافقه رئيس الوزراء الماليزي أنور إبراهيم في الرقص.

U.S. President Donald Trump performed his famous dance to the tune of the song "YMCA" by the Village People in front of thousands of American soldiers and sailors aboard the nuclear aircraft carrier USS George Washington, anchored at the Yokosuka Naval Base near Tokyo.
Trump's visit to the American aircraft carrier was part of an official trip to Japan, as part of a broader tour in Asia aimed at strengthening economic and security alliances in the face of rising Chinese challenges.
Trump arrived at the carrier by air aboard Marine One, accompanied by Japan's new Prime Minister Sanae Takayichi, who recently took office as the first woman in Japan's history to hold this position. He was warmly welcomed by thousands of American and Japanese sailors and military personnel, who were dressed in camouflage, inside the carrier, which houses about 6,000 personnel.
Trump began his speech by praising the soldiers, saying they "looked absolutely fantastic," and promised to increase their pay, noting that the U.S. Navy achieved the best recruitment numbers in "many generations" this year. He also announced a memorandum of understanding between U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and the Japanese Prime Minister to enhance cooperation in the shipbuilding industry, in a move aimed at countering Chinese dominance in this field.

Sailors Dance with Trump
As the speech concluded, the music of "YMCA" blared through the loudspeakers, prompting a burst of applause, and Trump joined in the dancing with his usual enthusiasm, moving his arms in distinctive motions that have become his trademark since his campaign, while some sailors joined him in dance, and others took selfies with him, in a scene described as "spontaneous fun" reflecting Trump's populist style of connecting with the troops.
Takayichi, who accompanied him aboard the carrier, expressed her "gratitude for the strong alliance between the two countries," praising Trump as a "partner at the highest levels," and presented him with a commemorative golf club from the late Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
This event comes just a few days after Trump performed the same dance at the official reception upon his arrival in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, during the first stop of his Asian tour. There, he joined a colorful traditional dance troupe representing the major ethnic groups in Malaysia—including the indigenous peoples of Borneo, Malays, Chinese, and Indians—to the beat of drums and local music, while being accompanied by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in the dance.
Trump's Asian tour began on October 25, marking his first major foreign trip since taking office for the second time in January, and it lasts five days, covering Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea.
The tour aims to re-establish U.S. influence in the Indo-Pacific, amid rising trade tensions with China, including the imposition of tariffs of up to 15% on Asian imports, and new trade agreements such as a $350 billion deal with South Korea for U.S. investments.
