في إطار التحركات الدبلوماسية المكثفة بشأن الأوضاع في المنطقة، جرت اتصالات هاتفية، مساء أمس (الأحد)، بين وزير الخارجية المصري الدكتور بدر عبدالعاطي، وكل من وزير خارجية السعودية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان، ونائب رئيس الوزراء وزير الخارجية الأردني أيمن الصفدي، ووزير خارجية فرنسا جان نويل بارو، ووزير خارجية اليونان جورجيوس جيرابيتريتيس.
وبحسب بيان صادر عن وزارة الخارجية المصرية، تناولت الاتصالات مجمل تطورات القضية الفلسطينية، والجهود المبذولة لدفع مسار التهدئة، إذ أكد الوزير عبدالعاطي أهمية البناء على مخرجات قمة شرم الشيخ للسلام التاريخية واتفاق وقف الحرب في غزة، وبما يضمن تحقيق تطلعات الشعب الفلسطيني وإقامة دولته المستقلة، مشيراً إلى ضرورة الدخول في المرحلة الثانية من اتفاق إنهاء الحرب في غزة وبدء خطوات التعافي المبكر وإعادة الإعمار.
كما استعرضت الاتصالات التحضيرات الجارية لعقد المؤتمر الدولي للتعافي المبكر وإعادة إعمار غزة، الذي تستضيفه مصر خلال شهر نوفمبر القادم، وشدد وزير خارجية مصر على أن المؤتمر يمثل خطوة محورية لتوحيد الجهود الدولية لدعم الشعب الفلسطيني والمساهمة في إعادة بناء ما دمرته الحرب وفق خطة عربية – إسلامية شاملة للتعافي المبكر وإعادة الإعمار.
وعلى صعيد آخر، تناولت الاتصالات الأوضاع الخطيرة في السودان، ولا سيما في مدينة الفاشر التي تشهد اضطرابات واسعة، إذ تم تأكيد ضرورة دعم الجهود الإقليمية والدولية لوقف إطلاق النار وتحقيق تسوية سياسية شاملة، في إطار نتائج اجتماع رباعية السودان الأخير في واشنطن، وأهمية البناء عليها لتنسيق المواقف ومضاعفة الجهود الإنسانية في المناطق المتضررة.
As part of the intensive diplomatic efforts regarding the situation in the region, phone calls took place yesterday evening (Sunday) between Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, and Greek Foreign Minister Georgios Gerapetritis.
According to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the calls addressed the overall developments of the Palestinian issue and the efforts being made to promote a path towards de-escalation. Minister Abdelatty emphasized the importance of building on the outcomes of the historic Sharm El-Sheikh peace summit and the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, in a way that ensures the realization of the aspirations of the Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state. He pointed out the necessity of entering the second phase of the agreement to end the war in Gaza and starting early recovery and reconstruction steps.
The calls also reviewed the ongoing preparations for holding the international conference for early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, which Egypt will host in the upcoming month of November. The Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed that the conference represents a pivotal step to unify international efforts to support the Palestinian people and contribute to rebuilding what was destroyed by the war, according to a comprehensive Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction.
On another note, the calls addressed the dangerous situation in Sudan, particularly in the city of El Fasher, which is experiencing widespread unrest. The necessity of supporting regional and international efforts to achieve a ceasefire and reach a comprehensive political settlement was confirmed, in light of the outcomes of the recent Quadruple Sudan meeting in Washington, and the importance of building on them to coordinate positions and multiply humanitarian efforts in the affected areas.
