أطلقت الولايات المتحدة حراكا سياسيا في الشرق الأوسط، في مسعى لإنقاذ اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار في غزة من الانهيار، وسط تبادل الاتهامات بين حماس وإسرائيل بارتكاب خروقات.
ومن المنتظر أن يصل نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جي دي فانس إلى إسرائيل، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، للانضمام إلى المبعوثين ستيف ويتكوف وجاريد كوشنر، في إطار الجهود الرامية إلى الحفاظ على الهدنة، في ظل مخاوف أمريكية من احتمال انسحاب رئيس وزراء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو من الاتفاق.
المخاطرة غير مقبولة
واستقبل نتنياهو ويتكوف وكوشنر، أمس (الإثنين)، ووفقاً لـ«القناة 12» الإسرائيلية، فإن المبعوثين أكدا له ضرورة عدم اتخاذ أي خطوة يمكن أن تُعرّض الهدنة للخطر، عقدا اجتماعاً مع مسؤولين كبار في الجيش الإسرائيلي للتحقق من التقدم في تنفيذ اتفاق السلام الأوسع.
وقال ويتكوف وكوشنر لنتنياهو، بحسب القناة: «لا تتصرف بطريقة يمكن أن تهدد وقف إطلاق النار، نريد أن نفعل كل ما بوسعنا للوصول إلى المرحلة الثانية»، وأضافا أن «الدفاع عن النفس مقبول، لكن المخاطرة بالهدنة غير مقبولة».
قلق أمريكي متزايد
وفيما تأتي هذه الجهود للحفاظ على «صفقة السلام»، كشف مسؤولون أمريكيون لصحيفة «نيويورك تايمز»، أنهم باتوا يشعرون بقلق متزايد من أن نتنياهو «قد يفكك الاتفاق» الذي توسطت فيه الولايات المتحدة.
ونقلت عن مسؤولين في إدارة ترمب، قولهم: إن هناك قلقاً داخل الإدارة من أن نتنياهو قد ينسحب من الصفقة.
وأضافوا أن الإستراتيجية الآن، هي أن يحاول فانس وويتكوف وكوشنر منع نتنياهو من استئناف هجومه على غزة.
وضع حساس جداً
وأفاد مسؤول بارز في الإدارة الأمريكية، بأن ويتكوف وكوشنر يعترفان أن الوضع «حساس جداً»، وأن «صفقة السلام» التي تفاوضا عليها «معرضة للانهيار».
ويسعى ويتكوف وكوشنر لضمان استقرار الوضع، وتوصيل المساعدات الإنسانية إلى غزة، والتأكد من إعادة رفات الإسرائيليين.
وفي محاولة للعثور على هذه الرفات، تعمل الولايات المتحدة مع تركيا لإحضار فريق لديه خبرة في انتشال الجثث، وفق «نيويورك تايمز».
ويعمل ويتكوف وكوشنر على بعض القضايا الأكثر تعقيداً التي تُركت غير محددة في اتفاقهما الأولي، والذي نجح في إعادة جميع المحتجزين الإسرائيليين الأحياء، وتشمل هذه مسألة إنشاء «قوة استقرار».
الحرب انتهت والاتفاق سيصمد
من جانبه، أعلن رئيس المكتب السياسي لحماس خليل الحية، أن حرب غزة انتهت بلا رجعة، وأن اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار سيصمد، مؤكداً التزام الحركة والفصائل الفلسطينية به.
ونقلت قناة «القاهرة الإخبارية» عن الحيق قوله: إن حماس جادة في استخراج وتسليم كل جثامين المحتجزين الإسرائيليين، مشيراً إلى الصعوبات اللوجيستية المتعلقة بالعملية، وفق ما أورد بيان للحركة.
فيما أفاد المتحدث باسم حماس حازم قاسم، أن الحركة تتواصل بشكل مستمر مع الوسطاء بشأن استمرار خروقات إسرائيل لاتفاق وقف إطلاق النار، مشيراً إلى أن هناك تواصلا مستمرا مع الجانب الأمريكي بشأن التجاوزات التي تتعمد إسرائيل القيام بها.
وكانت صحيفة «يديعوت أحرونوت» ذكرت أن وفداً أمنياً إسرائيلياً زار مصر، الإثنين، لمناقشة «اليوم التالي» في غزة بعد الحرب، وخطط إعادة الإعمار. وضم الوفد الإسرائيلي ضم ممثلين عن الجيش وجهاز الأمن العام (الشاباك).
The United States has launched a political movement in the Middle East, in an effort to save the ceasefire agreement in Gaza from collapse, amid accusations exchanged between Hamas and Israel of committing violations.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is expected to arrive in Israel today (Tuesday) to join envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner as part of efforts to maintain the truce, amid American concerns about the possibility of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu withdrawing from the agreement.
Unacceptable Risk
Netanyahu received Witkoff and Kushner yesterday (Monday), and according to Israeli Channel 12, the envoys emphasized to him the necessity of not taking any steps that could jeopardize the ceasefire. They held a meeting with senior officials in the Israeli army to verify progress in implementing the broader peace agreement.
Witkoff and Kushner told Netanyahu, according to the channel: "Do not act in a way that could threaten the ceasefire; we want to do everything we can to reach the second phase," adding that "self-defense is acceptable, but risking the truce is unacceptable."
Increasing American Concern
As these efforts come to maintain the "peace deal," American officials revealed to the New York Times that they are increasingly concerned that Netanyahu "may dismantle the agreement" that the United States mediated.
They quoted officials in the Trump administration as saying that there is concern within the administration that Netanyahu may withdraw from the deal.
They added that the current strategy is for Vance, Witkoff, and Kushner to try to prevent Netanyahu from resuming his attack on Gaza.
Very Sensitive Situation
A senior official in the U.S. administration reported that Witkoff and Kushner acknowledge that the situation is "very sensitive," and that the "peace deal" they negotiated is "at risk of collapse."
Witkoff and Kushner are working to ensure stability, deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, and ensure the return of the remains of Israelis.
In an effort to locate these remains, the United States is working with Turkey to bring in a team experienced in body recovery, according to the New York Times.
Witkoff and Kushner are addressing some of the more complex issues that were left undefined in their initial agreement, which successfully returned all living Israeli detainees, including the matter of establishing a "stabilization force."
The War is Over and the Agreement Will Hold
For his part, Hamas political bureau chief Khalil Hayya announced that the war in Gaza is over for good, and that the ceasefire agreement will hold, affirming the movement's and the Palestinian factions' commitment to it.
The Cairo News Channel quoted Hayya as saying that Hamas is serious about retrieving and delivering all the remains of the Israeli detainees, pointing to the logistical difficulties related to the process, according to a statement from the movement.
Meanwhile, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem stated that the movement is in continuous communication with mediators regarding Israel's ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement, noting that there is ongoing communication with the American side regarding the transgressions that Israel is deliberately committing.
The newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that an Israeli security delegation visited Egypt on Monday to discuss the "day after" in Gaza post-war and reconstruction plans. The Israeli delegation included representatives from the army and the General Security Service (Shabak).
