اعربت الأمم المتحدة، اليوم (الأحد)، عن إدانتها الشديدة للاستهداف المتكرر والمتعمد للمدنيين بمدينة الفاشر، مطالبة بوقف تلك الاستهدافات للمدنيين بمركز ولاية شمال دارفور، غربي السودان.
وقالت منسقة الأمم المتحدة المقيمة للشؤون الإنسانية بالسودان دينيس براون، في بيان: أدين بأشد العبارات الممكنة الاستهداف المتكرر والمتعمد للمدنيين في شمال دارفور، يجب عدم استهداف المستشفيات والملاجئ وأماكن اللجوء، مشددةً على ضرورة احترام القانون الإنساني الدولي والوقف الفوري للهجمات على المدنيين والبنية التحتية المدنية.
قتل النازحين
وطالبت بضرورة التحقيق الشامل والنزيح ومحاسبة المسؤولين عن هذه الجرائم، موضحة أنه منذ مساء الجمعة وحتى صباح الأحد، استهدفت هجمات بطائرات مسيّرة موقعاً يؤوي نازحين في حي الدرجة الأولى.
وذكرت تقارير أن قوات الدعم السريع هي التي نفذت الهجمات ما أسفر عن مقتل ما لا يقل عن 57 مدنياً وإصابة 60 آخرين، بينهم نساء وأطفال، وبحسب ذلك التقرير فإن الهجمات استهدفت المستشفى السعودي بالفاشر الذي يعد آخر مرفق طبي رئيسي عامل بالمدينة، وهو ما أكدته برون التي قالت إن المستشفى تضرر، مع أنه لا يزال يخدم آلاف المدنيين المتضررين من النزاع.
وأكدت أن الهجوم على هذا المرفق الحيوي يمثل ضربة قاصمة لبقاء المدنيين المحاصرين في المدينة.
الأطفال ضحايا العنف
وكانت منظمة الأمم المتحدة للطفولة «يونيسف» قد قالت في بيان اليوم، إن ما لا يقل عن 17 طفلاً، هم 9 فتيات و8 أولاد، بينهم رضيع، قُتلوا في هجوم استهدف مركز دار الأرقم للنازحين بالفاشر، كما أُصيب 21 طفلاً آخرين بجروح.
ودعت المديرة التنفيذية لليونيسف كاثرين راسل، إلى الوقف الفوري للأعمال العدائية في جميع أنحاء السودان، بما في ذلك في الفاشر، ومحاسبة المسؤولين عن الهجمات ضد المدنيين، بمن فيهم الأطفال.
في حين ذكرت منظمة الهجرة الدولية، أن 500 شخص نزحوا من الفاشر نتيجة تفاقم الأوضاع الأمنية أمس (السبت).
The United Nations expressed today (Sunday) its strong condemnation of the repeated and deliberate targeting of civilians in the city of El Fasher, calling for an end to these attacks on civilians in the center of North Darfur state, western Sudan.
UN Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Sudan, Denise Brown, stated in a statement: "I condemn in the strongest possible terms the repeated and deliberate targeting of civilians in North Darfur. Hospitals, shelters, and places of refuge must not be targeted," emphasizing the need to respect international humanitarian law and the immediate cessation of attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
Killing of Displaced Persons
She called for a comprehensive and impartial investigation and accountability for those responsible for these crimes, noting that from Friday evening until Sunday morning, drone attacks targeted a site housing displaced persons in the First Class neighborhood.
Reports indicated that the Rapid Support Forces carried out the attacks, resulting in the deaths of at least 57 civilians and injuring 60 others, including women and children. According to that report, the attacks targeted the Saudi hospital in El Fasher, which is the last major medical facility operating in the city, a fact confirmed by Brown, who stated that the hospital was damaged, yet it continues to serve thousands of civilians affected by the conflict.
She affirmed that the attack on this vital facility represents a devastating blow to the survival of civilians trapped in the city.
Children Victims of Violence
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) stated in a statement today that at least 17 children, including 9 girls and 8 boys, among them an infant, were killed in an attack targeting the Dar Al-Arqam center for displaced persons in El Fasher, and 21 other children were injured.
UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell called for an immediate cessation of hostilities across Sudan, including in El Fasher, and for accountability for those responsible for attacks against civilians, including children.
Meanwhile, the International Organization for Migration reported that 500 people were displaced from El Fasher due to the worsening security situation yesterday (Saturday).
