كشف صحيفة «دي تسايت» الألمانية أن الرئيس السوري السابق بشار الأسد، الذي أُطيح به في الثامن من ديسمبر الماضي، يعيش في العاصمة الروسية تحت حماية مباشرة من الكرملين، في واحدة من أكثر فترات حياته عزلة وغموضاً.
وحسب الصحيفة، فإن حياة الأسد في موسكو تجمع بين الرفاهية المفرطة والعزلة الكاملة، إذ يعيش في شقق تطل على ناطحات السحاب، بينما سجله السياسي يبقى رهينة بيد موسكو، بعيداً عن أي دور أو نفوذ في مستقبل سورية.
20 شقة فخمة
وأفادت الصحيفة بأن عائلة بشار الأسد، التي فرت من سورية في ديسمبر من العام الماضي، تمتلك نحو 20 شقة فخمة موزعة على 3 طوابق في ناطحة سحاب راقية وسط موسكو. ونقلت الصحيفة عن مصدر روسي قوله: إن عائلة الأسد تقطن في 3 شقق متصلة تقع فوق مركز تسوق فاخر، ويستخدم حراساً شخصيين من شركة أمنية روسية خاصة ممولة من الحكومة. وأفصحت «دي تسايت» أن عائلة الأسد قامت منذ 2013 بشراء شقق في موسكو، بعد عامين من بداية الاحتجاجات.
وكانت صحيفة «فيننشال تايمز» البريطانية ذكرت في العام 2019 أن عائلة الأسد اشترت على الأقل 18 شقة فاخرة في موسكو، وتم استخدام شبكة معقدة من الشركات والمؤسسات المالية لهذا الغرض.
حياة مترفة
ونقل تقرير الصحيفة عن أحد المقربين من الأسد قوله إن الرئيس السابق يعيش حياة مترفة، يقضي خلالها ساعات طويلة مع ألعاب الفيديو، ويزور المراكز التجارية في موسكو بين الحين والآخر. ولفتت إلى أن فريقها تمكن من دخول المبنى نفسه، ووصفوا الشقق بأنها «قصور معلقة في السماء» مزودة بثريات كريستالية، وأثاث فاخر بإطارات مذهبة، ونوافذ تمتد من الأرض حتى السقف تطل على نهر موسكفا وناطحات السحاب المحيطة.
وأضافت أن الحمام مصنوع بالكامل من رخام «كارارا»، ويوجد حوض استحمام سيراميكي عملاق أمام نوافذ يبلغ ارتفاعها 4 أمتار.
عائلة بشار
وبحسب الصحيفة الألمانية، فإن أسماء الأسد (زوجة الرئيس السابق) تعاني حالة صحية حرجة بعد عودة إصابتها بالسرطان الذي شفيت منه في العام 2018.
وأضافت أن أسماء تتلقى علاجها في موسكو بعد تدهور حالتها منذ ربيع 2024.
في المقابل، يقيم ماهر (شقيق الأسد) في فندق 5 نجوم، ويقضي معظم وقته في تدخين النرجيلة.
وفي فبراير الماضي، ظهر حافظ (نجل الأسد) في مقطع فيديو نُشر عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي وهو يتجول في حي راقٍ في موسكو، متحدثاً عن الأيام الأخيرة قبل سقوط نظام والده.
وقال في الفيديو الذي تداولته وسائل الإعلام: «لم نخطط للهروب من سورية، لكن نقلتنا روسيا بشكل عاجل إلى موسكو بعد انهيار دمشق».
The German newspaper "Die Zeit" revealed that former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who was ousted on December 8 of last year, is living in the Russian capital under direct protection from the Kremlin, during one of the most isolated and mysterious periods of his life.
According to the newspaper, Assad's life in Moscow combines excessive luxury and complete isolation, as he resides in apartments overlooking skyscrapers, while his political record remains hostage to Moscow, far from any role or influence in Syria's future.
20 Luxury Apartments
The newspaper reported that Bashar al-Assad's family, which fled Syria in December of last year, owns about 20 luxury apartments spread over 3 floors in an upscale skyscraper in central Moscow. The newspaper quoted a Russian source as saying that the Assad family resides in 3 connected apartments located above a luxury shopping center, and employs personal guards from a private Russian security company funded by the government. "Die Zeit" disclosed that the Assad family has been purchasing apartments in Moscow since 2013, two years after the protests began.
The British newspaper "Financial Times" mentioned in 2019 that the Assad family had purchased at least 18 luxury apartments in Moscow, using a complex network of companies and financial institutions for this purpose.
Lavish Life
The newspaper's report quoted a close associate of Assad stating that the former president lives a lavish life, spending long hours with video games and occasionally visiting shopping centers in Moscow. It noted that its team managed to enter the same building, describing the apartments as "palaces suspended in the sky," equipped with crystal chandeliers, luxurious furniture with gilded frames, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Moskva River and the surrounding skyscrapers.
It added that the bathroom is entirely made of "Carrara" marble, featuring a giant ceramic bathtub in front of windows that are 4 meters high.
Bashar's Family
According to the German newspaper, Asma al-Assad (the former president's wife) is in critical health after a recurrence of the cancer she was cured of in 2018.
It added that Asma is receiving treatment in Moscow after her condition deteriorated since the spring of 2024.
In contrast, Maher (Assad's brother) resides in a 5-star hotel, spending most of his time smoking shisha.
Last February, Hafez (Assad's son) appeared in a video posted on social media, wandering in an upscale neighborhood in Moscow, talking about the final days before his father's regime fell.
He said in the video circulated by the media: "We did not plan to escape from Syria, but Russia urgently transported us to Moscow after the collapse of Damascus."
