تبخر حلم الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب في الفوز بجائزة نوبل للسلام لعام 2025، بعدما أعلنت لجنة نوبل النرويجية، اليوم (الجمعة)، فوز المعارضة الفنزويلية ماريا كورينا ماتشادو بالجائزة، تقديراً لـ«نضالها السلمي من أجل استعادة الديموقراطية في فنزويلا وتحقيق انتقال عادل وسلمي من الديكتاتورية إلى الحكم المدني».
وقالت اللجنة في بيانها الصادر من أوسلو إن اختيار ماتشادو جاء «تقديراً لشجاعتها في الدفاع عن الحقوق الديموقراطية للشعب الفنزويلي، وإصرارها على تحقيق التغيير بوسائل سلمية رغم القمع والتهديدات».
كما رأت اللجنة أن الوقت مناسب لتسليط الضوء على «نضال طويل الأمد من أجل الديموقراطية في واحدة من أكثر دول أمريكا اللاتينية استبداداً»، مؤكدة أن «السلام لا يُقاس فقط بوقف الحروب، بل أيضاً بإرساء العدالة والحرية».
ويمثل هذا الفوز تحولاً رمزياً في الاهتمام الدولي بالأزمة الفنزويلية التي تفاقمت منذ أكثر من عقد، مع انزلاق البلاد إلى أزمة اقتصادية وسياسية خانقة تحت حكم الرئيس نيكولاس مادورو.
كما يأتي هذا القرار في عام هيمن فيه ترمب على التغطية الإعلامية بفضل تصريحاته المتكررة بأنه «يستحق جائزة نوبل للسلام»، مؤكداً أن سياسته الخارجية حققت استقراراً في الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا.
يشار إلى أن قيمة الجائزة تبلغ 11 مليون كرونة سويدية (نحو 1.2 مليون دولار)، وستُمنح رسمياً في حفل يقام في العاصمة النرويجية أوسلو في 10 ديسمبر، وهو اليوم الذي يوافق ذكرى وفاة مؤسس الجائزة الصناعي السويدي ألفريد نوبل.
The dream of U.S. President Donald Trump to win the Nobel Peace Prize for 2025 has evaporated, after the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced today (Friday) that Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has won the prize, in recognition of her "peaceful struggle to restore democracy in Venezuela and achieve a fair and peaceful transition from dictatorship to civilian rule."
The committee stated in its announcement from Oslo that Machado was chosen "in recognition of her courage in defending the democratic rights of the Venezuelan people, and her insistence on achieving change through peaceful means despite repression and threats."
The committee also noted that the time is right to highlight the "long-standing struggle for democracy in one of the most authoritarian countries in Latin America," emphasizing that "peace is not only measured by the cessation of wars, but also by the establishment of justice and freedom."
This victory represents a symbolic shift in international attention to the Venezuelan crisis, which has worsened over the past decade, as the country has plunged into a suffocating economic and political crisis under President Nicolas Maduro.
This decision also comes in a year when Trump dominated media coverage due to his repeated statements that he "deserves the Nobel Peace Prize," asserting that his foreign policy has achieved stability in the Middle East and Africa.
It is worth noting that the prize is valued at 11 million Swedish kronor (about 1.2 million dollars), and it will be officially awarded at a ceremony held in the Norwegian capital Oslo on December 10, which coincides with the anniversary of the death of the prize's founder, Swedish industrialist Alfred Nobel.
