The French capital, Paris, will host an Arab-European ministerial meeting tomorrow, Thursday, amid expectations of participation from U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio to discuss plans for the situation following the end of the war in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting will take place in parallel with negotiations between Israel and Hamas and the mediators at the Sharm El Sheikh resort in Egypt, aimed at discussing how to implement a plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the war and evaluate the collective commitments from the concerned countries.

A French diplomatic source revealed that the Arab-European meeting will be at the level of foreign ministers and comes in support of U.S. efforts regarding Gaza, with participation from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, and Jordan. The source explained that the meeting is a continuation of the Saudi-French initiative regarding the two-state solution.

Today, Wednesday, a new round of talks began in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

Sources close to the negotiations reported that there are outstanding issues among the negotiators in Sharm El Sheikh, as Hamas is demanding the release of elite members as part of a prisoner exchange deal, including the release of six leaders, among them Marwan Barghouti and Ahmad Sa'adat.

Hamas is also demanding an Israeli withdrawal from populated areas to hand over prisoners and bodies, and that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not return to war after the prisoners are handed over. Additionally, the maps of the Israeli withdrawal in the stages of the agreement are also among the outstanding issues.

Sources indicated that the handover of the bodies of the detainees will take longer than what was specified in Trump's plan. Hamas is demanding the entry of 400 trucks daily into the Gaza Strip.

Participating in today's third round of talks are Qatar, the United States, Turkey, alongside Egypt, which is hosting the discussions in Sharm El Sheikh. The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the head of the Turkish intelligence agency Ibrahim Kalin, U.S. President's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, and Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer have all arrived in Sharm El Sheikh. The head of Egyptian intelligence has also joined the meetings.
