Trump told reporters during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the White House: "There is a real opportunity for us to do something," noting that American negotiators are also participating in the discussions and that another team has just left to join. This came after confirmations from the White House about the involvement of U.S. envoy Steve Whitkoff and the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner in the talks, but the Egyptian foreign minister stated that the American delegation would join tomorrow.

U.S. Commitment to Ending the War

Trump added: "I believe there is a possibility of achieving peace in the Middle East." Earlier today, Trump sent a message to the families of Israeli hostages reaffirming his commitment to ending this conflict and restoring a foreign policy based on peace.

For his part, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that America, under Trump’s leadership, is leading efforts to secure the release of all hostages and end Hamas's rule in Gaza, indicating that the goal is to achieve lasting peace that ensures Israel's security and the region's prosperity for generations to come.

Indirect Negotiations

The indirect talks between Hamas and Israel are continuing for the second consecutive day in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, in a positive atmosphere, while U.S. media reports that efforts are being made to reach a final agreement by the end of the week.

Arab media quoted a leading source in Hamas stating: The second day of negotiations between the mediators and the movement's delegation in Sharm El Sheikh has just concluded, focusing on withdrawal maps and scheduling the release of prisoners held by the occupation.

Hamas's Demands

He pointed out that the movement demanded linking the stages of releasing prisoners held by the occupation with the stages of complete withdrawal, and that the release of the last prisoner should coincide with the last withdrawal of occupation forces, emphasizing the necessity of receiving international guarantees for a final ceasefire and complete withdrawal.
