أعلنت الحكومة البريطانية، اليوم (الإثنين)، فرض عقوبات على عشرات الأفراد والكيانات المرتبطة بإيران، وذلك في أعقاب خطوات مماثلة اتخذتها الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأوروبي.
وقالت وزارة الخزانة البريطانية، في بيان، إنه تمت إضافة عدد من الأفراد والكيانات المرتبطة ببرنامج إيران النووي، ومنها وزارة الطاقة الإيرانية ووزارة النفط، موضحة أنها فرضت عقوبات على 9 أفراد و62 كياناً في إطار إجراءاتها المناهضة لإيران.
تجميد أصول إيرانية
وأشارت إلى أن العقوبات تشمل «تجميد الأموال والموارد الاقتصادية للأشخاص الذين يشاركون أو شاركوا في انتشار أو تطوير أسلحة نووية في إيران أو لاستخدامها فيها، أو أي نشاط قد يؤدي إلى تطوير أسلحة نووية في إيران أو لاستخدامها فيها»، مبينة أن أولئك المشمولين بالعقوبات البريطانية الآن سيشملهم تجميد الأصول وقيود مالية وحظر للسفر.
وكانت بريطانيا وألمانيا وفرنسا دول الترويكا الأوروبية، قد طالبت، في بيان مشترك في وقت سابق اليوم، إيران بعدم اتخاذ أي إجراءات تصعيدية ومواصلة الامتثال لالتزاماتها، مؤكدين أن هدفهم الأساسي منع طهران من السعي إلى امتلاك أو تطوير أسلحة نووية.
دول الترويكا تطالب إيران بالامتثال
وطالبت الدول الثلاث، طهران وجميع الدول بالامتثال الكامل لقرارات الأمم المتحدة، متهمةً إيران بانتهاك التزاماتها مراراً، وأنها لم يكن لديها خيار سوى تفعيل آلية الزناد، وستواصل السعي إلى الدبلوماسية والمفاوضات مع إيران.
وأطلقت بريطانيا وفرنسا وألمانيا عملية لإعادة فرض العقوبات على إيران في مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة؛ لانتهاكها اتفاق عام 2015، الذي يهدف إلى منع طهران من صنع قنبلة نووية، فيما تنفي إيران سعيها لامتلاك أسلحة نووية.
The British government announced today (Monday) the imposition of sanctions on dozens of individuals and entities linked to Iran, following similar steps taken by the United Nations and the European Union.
The British Treasury stated in a statement that several individuals and entities associated with Iran's nuclear program have been added, including the Iranian Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Oil, clarifying that it has imposed sanctions on 9 individuals and 62 entities as part of its measures against Iran.
Freezing Iranian Assets
It noted that the sanctions include "freezing the funds and economic resources of individuals who participate or have participated in the proliferation or development of nuclear weapons in Iran or their use therein, or any activity that may lead to the development of nuclear weapons in Iran or their use therein," indicating that those included in the British sanctions will now be subject to asset freezes, financial restrictions, and travel bans.
Britain, Germany, and France, the European troika, demanded in a joint statement earlier today that Iran refrain from taking any escalatory actions and continue to comply with its commitments, emphasizing that their primary goal is to prevent Tehran from seeking to possess or develop nuclear weapons.
The Troika Countries Demand Iran's Compliance
The three countries called on Tehran and all nations to fully comply with United Nations resolutions, accusing Iran of repeatedly violating its commitments, and stating that they had no choice but to activate the trigger mechanism, while continuing to seek diplomacy and negotiations with Iran.
Britain, France, and Germany initiated a process to reimpose sanctions on Iran at the United Nations Security Council for violating the 2015 agreement aimed at preventing Tehran from making a nuclear bomb, while Iran denies seeking to possess nuclear weapons.
