نيابةً عن ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان، وبالشراكة مع رئيس الجمهورية الفرنسية إيمانويل ماكرون، رأس وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله، الجلسة الافتتاحية لأعمال المؤتمر الدولي لتسوية قضية فلسطين بالوسائل السلمية وتنفيذ حل الدولتين على مستوى القادة، المنعقد في مقر الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة بمدينة نيويورك.
وألقى وزير الخارجية كلمة المملكة التي نقل في مستهلها تحيات خادم الحرمين الشريفين، وولي عهده الأمين، وتمنياتهما بنجاح أعمال المؤتمر.
كما عبّر وزير الخارجية عن شكر المملكة للرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، وأنطونيو غوتيريش، ورئيسة الجمعية العامة، على جهودهم لإنجاح المؤتمر الذي يشكل فرصة تاريخية نحو تحقيق السلام وتأكيد الالتزام الدولي بتنفيذ حل الدولتين.
وأشار وزير الخارجية، إلى أن المؤتمر ينعقد في ظل استمرار سلطات الاحتلال الإسرائيلية في نهجها العدواني، ومواصلتها جرائمها الوحشية تجاه الأشقاء الفلسطينيين في قطاع غزة، وانتهاكاتها في الضفة الغربية والقدس الشريف، واعتداءاتها المتكررة على سيادة الدول العربية والإسلامية، وآخرها العدوان الغاشم الذي استهدف دولة قطر، وهو ما يؤكد إمعان إسرائيل في ممارساتها العدوانية التي تهدد الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي والدولي، وتقوض جهود السلام في المنطقة، ويعزز قناعتنا الراسخة بأن تنفيذ حل الدولتين هو السبيل الوحيد لتحقيق السلام العادل والدائم في المنطقة.
ونوّه وزير الخارجية بالموقف التاريخي للرئيس الفرنسي بالاعتراف بدولة فلسطين، وإقدام العديد من الدول على اتخاذ هذا الموقف الشجاع، إضافة إلى التأييد الدولي الواسع لقرار الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة باعتماد إعلان نيويورك بشأن تسوية قضية فلسطين بالوسائل السلمية وتنفيذ حل الدولتين، الذي صوّتت لصالحه 142 دولة، وهو ما يعكس إرادة المجتمع الدولي في إنصاف الشعب الفلسطيني وترسيخ حقه التاريخي والقانوني وفق المرجعيات الدولية والقرارات الأممية ذات الصلة، ومبادرة السلام العربية.
وفي ختام الكلمة، أكد وزير الخارجية أن المملكة عازمة على مواصلة شراكتها مع الجمهورية الفرنسية وجميع الدول الداعية إلى السلام من أجل متابعة تنفيذ مخرجات هذا المؤتمر، ووضع حد للحرب في غزة، ووقف جميع الإجراءات الأحادية التي تهدد السيادة الفلسطينية، والعمل على إنهاء الصراع في المنطقة، وتجسيد الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة على حدود 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية، مجدداً الشكر للدول التي اعترفت أو أعلنت عزمها الاعتراف بالدولة الفلسطينية، داعياً بقية الدول إلى اتخاذ هذه الخطوة التاريخية، التي سيكون لها بالغ الأثر في دعم الجهود الرامية إلى تنفيذ حل الدولتين وتحقيق السلام الدائم والشامل في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، وإيجاد واقع جديد تنعم فيه المنطقة بالأمن والاستقرار والازدهار.
حضر المؤتمر، سفيرة خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية الأميرة ريما بنت بندر بن سلطان بن عبدالعزيز، ووزير الدولة للشؤون الخارجية عضو مجلس الوزراء مبعوث شؤون المناخ عادل بن أحمد الجبير، ووزير الاقتصاد والتخطيط فيصل بن فاضل الإبراهيم، ووكيل وزارة الخارجية للشؤون الدولية المتعددة المشرف العام على وكالة الوزارة لشؤون الدبلوماسية العامة الدكتور عبدالرحمن بن إبراهيم الرسي، ومستشار وزير الخارجية للشؤون السياسية الأمير مصعب بن محمد الفرحان، ومندوب المملكة الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك السفير الدكتور عبدالعزيز بن محمد الواصل، والوزير مفوض بوزارة الخارجية الدكتورة منال رضوان.
On behalf of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and in partnership with French President Emmanuel Macron, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah chaired the opening session of the International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Issue and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution at the Leaders' Level, held at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.
The Foreign Minister delivered the Kingdom's speech, in which he conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trustworthy Crown Prince, along with their wishes for the success of the conference.
The Foreign Minister also expressed the Kingdom's gratitude to President Emmanuel Macron, António Guterres, and the President of the General Assembly for their efforts to make the conference a success, which represents a historic opportunity towards achieving peace and reaffirming international commitment to implementing the two-state solution.
The Foreign Minister pointed out that the conference is taking place amid the continued aggressive approach of the Israeli occupation authorities, and their ongoing brutal crimes against our Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, as well as their violations in the West Bank and the Holy Jerusalem, and their repeated assaults on the sovereignty of Arab and Islamic countries, the latest of which was the brutal aggression targeting the State of Qatar. This confirms Israel's persistence in its aggressive practices that threaten regional and international security and stability, undermine peace efforts in the region, and reinforces our firm conviction that implementing the two-state solution is the only way to achieve just and lasting peace in the region.
The Foreign Minister praised the historic stance of the French President in recognizing the State of Palestine, and the courage of many countries in adopting this position, in addition to the broad international support for the UN General Assembly's resolution adopting the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Issue and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which was voted in favor by 142 countries. This reflects the will of the international community to achieve justice for the Palestinian people and to solidify their historical and legal rights according to international references and relevant UN resolutions, as well as the Arab Peace Initiative.
At the end of his speech, the Foreign Minister affirmed that the Kingdom is determined to continue its partnership with the French Republic and all countries advocating for peace to follow up on the outcomes of this conference, to put an end to the war in Gaza, halt all unilateral actions that threaten Palestinian sovereignty, work towards ending the conflict in the region, and realize an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. He renewed his thanks to the countries that have recognized or announced their intention to recognize the State of Palestine, calling on the remaining countries to take this historic step, which will have a significant impact on supporting efforts aimed at implementing the two-state solution and achieving lasting and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, and creating a new reality in which the region enjoys security, stability, and prosperity.
The conference was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Cabinet, and Climate Affairs Envoy, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, the Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal bin Fadl Al-Ibrahim, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral International Affairs and General Supervisor of the Ministry's Public Diplomacy Agency, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi, the Political Affairs Advisor to the Foreign Minister, Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan, the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Wasel, and the Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Manal Radwan.
