رحبت دولة قطر بإعلان بريطانيا وكندا وأستراليا والبرتغال، اعترافها رسمياً بدولة فلسطين، وعدّت هذه الاعترافات انتصاراً للحقوق المشروعة للشعب الفلسطيني.
وأكدت وزارة الخارجية القطرية، في بيانها، أن هذه الاعترافات تنسجم مع الشرعية الدولية وقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة و«إعلان نيويورك» بشأن تنفيذ حل الدولتين، وتسهم في تعزيز فرص تحقيق السلام العادل والشامل والدائم في المنطقة.
وجددت دعوة دولة قطر لجميع الدول التي لم تعترف بعد بدولة فلسطين، إلى اتخاذ خطوات مماثلة تعكس الالتزام بالقانون الدولي.
كما أكدت وزارة الخارجية موقف قطر الثابت والدائم في دعم القضية الفلسطينية وصمود الشعب الفلسطيني، المستند إلى قرارات الشرعية الدولية وحل الدولتين، بما يضمن إقامة الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة على حدود عام 1967، وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية.
Qatar welcomed the announcement by Britain, Canada, Australia, and Portugal of their official recognition of the State of Palestine, considering these recognitions a victory for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed in its statement that these recognitions align with international legitimacy and relevant Security Council resolutions and the "New York Declaration" regarding the implementation of the two-state solution, contributing to enhancing the chances of achieving just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region.
Qatar renewed its call to all countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to take similar steps that reflect a commitment to international law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reaffirmed Qatar's steadfast and permanent position in supporting the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the Palestinian people, based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution, which ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
