أشاد رئيس البرلمان العربي محمد بن أحمد اليماحي، بتقديم المملكة دعما اقتصاديا تنمويا إضافيا جديدا للجمهورية اليمنية عبر البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن، بتوجيه من خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وبمتابعة ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان، لمساندة الشعب اليمني في ظل الظروف الاقتصادية الصعبة التي يمر بها.
نهج إنساني ثابت للمملكة
وأكد رئيس البرلمان العربي أن هذه المبادرة الكريمة تجسد النهج الإنساني الثابت للمملكة العربية السعودية في دعم الشعب اليمني الشقيق، وتعكس ما توليه المملكة بقيادة خادم الحرمين الشريفين وولي عهده الأمين من اهتمام ودعم ثابت لأمن واستقرار ووحدة اليمن ودعمها المستمر لمجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني، وحرصها الدائم على مساندة الشعب اليمني في مواجهة التحديات الإنسانية والاقتصادية.
سجل حافل بالمبادرات الإنسانية
وأضاف رئيس البرلمان العربي، أن هذه المبادرة الكريمة تضاف إلى سجل المملكة الحافل بمبادراتها الإنسانية والتنموية على المستويين العربي والإقليمي، مؤكدا وقوف البرلمان العربي ودعمه التام إلى جانب كل الجهود المخلصة الرامية إلى دعم أمن واستقرار ووحدة الجمهورية اليمنية، وتحقيق تطلعات شعبها الكريم في العيش بأمن وكرامة وازدهار.
دعم اقتصادي تنموي إضافي
وأعلنت المملكة تقديم دعم اقتصادي تنموي إضافي جديد بقيمة مليار و380 مليونا و250 ألف ريال سعودي، بتوجيه من خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وبناء على توصية ولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان، استجابة لمناشدة رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني الدكتور رشاد محمد العليمي.
دعم موازنة الحكومة
ويهدف الدعم الجديد الذي تقدمه المملكة إلى مواجهة الظروف الاقتصادية الصعبة في اليمن، حيث يشمل دعم موازنة الحكومة، ودعم المشتقات النفطية، وتمويل ميزانية تشغيلية لمستشفى الأمير محمد بن سلمان في محافظة عدن، وفقا لآليات حوكمة تدعم الإصلاحات الاقتصادية اليمنية.
جزء من سلسلة المساعدات الإنسانية
ويُعد دعم المملكة لليمن جزءا من سلسلة المساعدات الإنسانية والاقتصادية التي تقدمها المملكة منذ اندلاع النزاع في اليمن عام 2015، الذي أدى إلى أكبر أزمة إنسانية في العالم، مع نزوح أكثر من 4.5 مليون شخص وتهديد 21 مليون يمني بالجوع، وفقا لتقارير الأمم المتحدة.
أكثر من مليارَي دولار مساعدات
وأدى النزاع بين الحوثيين، والحكومة الشرعية إلى تدهور الاقتصاد اليمني بنسبة تصل إلى 50% منذ 2015، مع تضخم يتجاوز 40% وانهيار الريال اليمني، وأطلقت المملكة «البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن» في مارس 2021، برئاسة وزير الدفاع الأمير خالد بن سلمان، ويهدف إلى إعادة الإعمار والتنمية، وقدم حتى الآن أكثر من مليارَي دولار مساعدات، بما في ذلك مشاريع صحية وتعليمية ودعم الموازنة العامة.
The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, praised the Kingdom's provision of additional economic development support to the Republic of Yemen through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and with the follow-up of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to support the Yemeni people amid the difficult economic conditions they are experiencing.
A Steadfast Humanitarian Approach by the Kingdom
The President of the Arab Parliament affirmed that this generous initiative embodies the steadfast humanitarian approach of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the brotherly Yemeni people, reflecting the attention and consistent support that the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trustworthy Crown Prince, gives to the security, stability, and unity of Yemen, as well as its ongoing support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, and its constant commitment to assist the Yemeni people in facing humanitarian and economic challenges.
A Rich Record of Humanitarian Initiatives
The President of the Arab Parliament added that this generous initiative is added to the Kingdom's rich record of its humanitarian and developmental initiatives at both the Arab and regional levels, affirming the Arab Parliament's full support alongside all sincere efforts aimed at supporting the security, stability, and unity of the Republic of Yemen, and achieving the aspirations of its noble people to live in security, dignity, and prosperity.
Additional Economic Development Support
The Kingdom announced the provision of an additional economic development support of 1 billion, 380 million, and 250 thousand Saudi riyals, under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and based on the recommendation of the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in response to the appeal of the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi.
Support for the Government's Budget
The new support provided by the Kingdom aims to address the difficult economic conditions in Yemen, as it includes support for the government budget, support for oil derivatives, and financing an operational budget for the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden Governorate, in accordance with governance mechanisms that support Yemeni economic reforms.
Part of a Series of Humanitarian Aid
The Kingdom's support for Yemen is part of a series of humanitarian and economic aid that the Kingdom has been providing since the outbreak of the conflict in Yemen in 2015, which has led to the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, with more than 4.5 million people displaced and 21 million Yemenis threatened by hunger, according to United Nations reports.
More than Two Billion Dollars in Aid
The conflict between the Houthis and the legitimate government has led to a deterioration of the Yemeni economy by up to 50% since 2015, with inflation exceeding 40% and the collapse of the Yemeni rial. The Kingdom launched the "Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen" in March 2021, chaired by Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman, aiming at reconstruction and development, and has so far provided more than two billion dollars in aid, including health and educational projects and support for the general budget.
