Prime Minister of Yemen, Salem bin Brek, confirmed today (Sunday) that the new Saudi support represents a strong boost for the government's efforts to maintain the stability of the national currency and curb inflation. This was during his reception of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the General Supervisor of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, Mohammed Al-Jaber.

The Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, as well as the Saudi government and people for their continuous support for Yemen. Most recently, yesterday, the announcement was made to provide additional support through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, amounting to 1.380 billion riyals, to support the government budget and provide oil derivatives to enhance financial and economic stability.

Historical Relations

Bin Brek affirmed that this support reflects the depth of the historical relations between the two countries and embodies the Kingdom's constant commitment to supporting the Yemeni government in its efforts to achieve economic stability and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people. He pointed out that the new Saudi support represents a strong boost for the government's efforts to maintain the stability of the national currency and curb inflation, in addition to enhancing the economic, financial, and administrative reforms that the government has initiated in the past period, contributing to improving the level of services and alleviating the burdens on citizens.

He highlighted the importance of the qualitative interventions of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and its vital role in implementing projects and supporting government efforts in priority sectors, reviewing the bilateral relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and the prospects for strengthening and developing them at all levels, in addition to the latest developments in the national situation, the path of economic, financial, and administrative reforms, and what the government has achieved in this regard, which has reflected positively on strengthening the position of the national currency, curbing inflation rates, and alleviating the living burdens on citizens.

Humanitarian Interventions

The Yemeni Prime Minister discussed with the Saudi Ambassador in Yemen the vital humanitarian and developmental interventions implemented by the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in several governorates, and the importance of continuing this support due to its direct and tangible impact on the lives of citizens, especially in the sectors of electricity, water, health, education, and infrastructure, in addition to the mechanisms for joint coordination to allocate the new Saudi support.

The Prime Minister reviewed what the government has accomplished in the field of reforms, which have contributed to strengthening the position of the national currency and alleviating the living burdens on citizens with the support of Yemen's partners from brotherly and friendly countries and donor organizations. He pointed out the government's urgent priorities that focus on fulfilling its commitments to citizens and the battle to restore the state and end the Houthi coup.

Implementation of Development Projects

For his part, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques renewed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's continued support for the Yemeni government and its efforts to implement comprehensive reforms, achieving security, peace, stability, and development in Yemen. He pointed out that the new support falls within an integrated framework to support the Yemeni economy and implement development projects that enhance stability and drive the wheel of development.
