رحب رئيس الوزراء اليمني سالم صالح بن بريك في تصريح خاص لـ«عكاظ» بإطلاق شراكة الأمن البحري اليمني مع أكثر من 35 دولة وخمس منظمات دولية أكدت التزامها بهذه الشراكة الدولية من خلال المؤتمر الدولي الذي عقد برئاسة المملكة العربية السعودية والمملكة المتحدة، من أجل حشد الدعم وتطوير قدرات الحكومة اليمنية في حماية المياه الإقليمية وإنفاذ القانون البحري في أهم الممرات البحرية في العالم.
وأشاد رئيس الوزراء اليمني سالم بن بريك في حديثه لـ«عكاظ» بنتائج المؤتمر الدولي للأمن البحري في اليمن وقال إن مخرجاته عكست الإدراك والتوافق الدولي على دعم اليمن وتعزيز حماية أمنه البحري وتمكين خفر السواحل اليمنية من القيام بمهماتها بمراقبة وحماية الحدود البحرية بما يسهم في تعزيز الأمن وتوسيع الفرص الاقتصادية من خلال توفير الحماية.
مسؤولية إقليمية ودولية مشتركة
وقال رئيس الوزراء اليمني إن مؤتمر الأمن البحري لليمن يبعث برسالة واضحة بأن أمن السواحل والممرات اليمنية مسؤولية إقليمية ودولية مشتركة تمس استقرار المنطقة وحركة التجارة العالمية.
ولفت إلى أن موقع اليمن الإستراتيجي على أهم طرق الملاحة يجعل دعم خفر السواحل اليمني أولوية وركيزة لحماية السيادة والتصدي للهجمات الحوثية على السفن التجارية والقرصنة والتهريب والاتجار بالبشر والهجرة غير الشرعية، معتبراً أن مخرجات المؤتمر تقود إلى تعزز الشراكة الحقيقة بين اليمن والعالم وتشكل استثماراً مباشراً في أمن البحر الأحمر وخليج عدن والبحر العربي، بما يعود بالفائدة على اليمن والعالم عموماً.
وثمّن بن بريك الدور الفاعل للمملكة العربية السعودية، والمملكة المتحدة، في رعاية مؤتمر الأمن البحري في الجمهورية اليمنية، باعتباره يؤسس لشراكة نوعية تعزز أمن الممرات المائية، والعمل سوياً في مكافحة الإرهاب والتصدي للتهديدات العابرة للحدود، وحماية مصالح اليمن وأمنه القومي، مجدداً تقديره لجهود البلدين المملكة العربية السعودية والمملكة المتحدة ودعمهما المستمر لليمن وعلى تبني تنظيم هذا المؤتمر المهم الذي يعزز التنسيق ويؤسس لشراكات أكثر فاعلية لمواجهة التحديات البحرية.
The Yemeni Prime Minister, Salem Saleh bin Brek, welcomed in a special statement to "Okaz" the launch of the Yemeni maritime security partnership with more than 35 countries and five international organizations that confirmed their commitment to this international partnership through the international conference held under the auspices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, aimed at mobilizing support and developing the capabilities of the Yemeni government in protecting its territorial waters and enforcing maritime law in the most important maritime corridors in the world.
The Yemeni Prime Minister, Salem bin Brek, praised in his remarks to "Okaz" the outcomes of the international maritime security conference for Yemen, stating that its results reflected the international awareness and consensus on supporting Yemen and enhancing the protection of its maritime security, enabling the Yemeni Coast Guard to carry out its missions of monitoring and protecting maritime borders, which contributes to strengthening security and expanding economic opportunities through providing protection.
Shared Regional and International Responsibility
The Yemeni Prime Minister stated that the maritime security conference for Yemen sends a clear message that the security of Yemeni coasts and corridors is a shared regional and international responsibility that affects the stability of the region and global trade movement.
He pointed out that Yemen's strategic location on the most important shipping routes makes supporting the Yemeni Coast Guard a priority and a cornerstone for protecting sovereignty and countering Houthi attacks on commercial ships, piracy, smuggling, human trafficking, and illegal immigration, considering that the outcomes of the conference lead to strengthening the real partnership between Yemen and the world and represent a direct investment in the security of the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Arabian Sea, benefiting both Yemen and the world at large.
Bin Brek appreciated the active role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom in sponsoring the maritime security conference in the Republic of Yemen, as it establishes a qualitative partnership that enhances the security of waterways, working together to combat terrorism and address cross-border threats, and protecting Yemen's interests and national security. He reiterated his appreciation for the efforts of both countries, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, and their continuous support for Yemen and for organizing this important conference that enhances coordination and establishes more effective partnerships to face maritime challenges.
